I've had the A1 for a few weeks, I took the plunge for the AMS. I have my A1 printer inside a safety enclosure and I'm disappointed the power cord from AMS to the A1 is so short. I've just ordered some Capricorn tubing to better reach the A1 from the top. The specs say it can use up to 1.2m of bowden tube, so hopefully that will work. I definitely need an AMS power extension cord tho

I can see that cord being too short if you have a custom setup for sure. May have been nice to give it a little breathing room for things like that.

Hoping to be able to make one of these to start a small business in a few years once I graduate university. The fact you're providing an affordable way for small businesses and creators to make their own parts and products is incredible. Without something like this smaller makers would to some how get the money to outsource to a big factory, or look over seas to companies what can only be within the budget of small businesses through low human rights standards. Making it able for small businesses and entrepreneurs to produce their own injection molded designs locally, ethically, and most importantly do all of that while being affordable and realistic is amazing! You are a blessing to the maker community and please keep this initiative going because you have something really special here. Following the development of this over the past few years has inspired me and shown me that there's a real path forward for following my dreams. I can't wait to see what amazing stuff you add to it next.

i have the A1 mini combo A1 combo and X1C with 4 AMS boxes.. which 16 colors changing is too much. Guess I'll have to buy 3 P1S to use the 3 ams boxes I'm not currently using. 4 -8 colors is more than enough, i think. I hope Bambu Labs will come out with a larger printer bed.. like Neptune 3 and 4 max by Elegoo.. or something better than Qidi Plus 4.. 400mm square would be awesome.

I'm looking to do some engraving on steel, gold, silver as well as wood and stone/slate. What would be the best wattage laser to use and also in your opinion, would you be able to engrave a deer skull with this machine, if not, what would be suitable for that? Cheers and a new subscriber
@BusterBeagle3D
@BusterBeagle3D 10 күн бұрын
If you want to be able to engrave on metals I would highly recommend a fiber laser. I would go at least 20W as a minimum. However a fiber laser can't do wood, you would need a diode or CO2 for that. xTool sells a dual laser Fiber and 20W Diode machine called the F1 Ultra. If the workable area works for you it's a great choice for both worlds.

Good review. I’m basically a Revopoint man, but this doe looks very promising. I have both range scanners from Revopoint and former owner of the Pop 2. I normally can midsize to large objects. I as have a The original CR Ferret. so I’m aware of the good the bad the ugly with Cr scanners. Scans dark objects without spray. Very forgiving with lost tracking is re established. Not the best software. I believe Creality addressed the mobile issues they bridge they created. My only major concern is the Creality boasted that the Creality Ferret was an all in one scanner. I’m not an expert in the metric system, but my issue is that it was supposed to scan small objects. The specs on the Creality site stated that the minimum scan size is 50Mm but the Creality scan software lists 150MM. Again, I’m not a metric system expert or even novice, but most scanners list 10 MM as small. I am very interested in this Scanner if it could handle midsize to very small objects. I am a Revopoint customer, but I’m not a blind loyalist. and

Seems like it loses detail when there are sharp edges. Compare the coins where the relief comes up out of the body of the coin. Looks like the edge is rounded, rather than sharp. Same with the stone(?) buddah. Looks like there's texture in the surface that gets lost in the scan. Compared to the older scan, I have to wonder if the texture that's on the older one is really there and the scan from the Otter just smoothed it out, or if the older scan just had scan artifacts that added surface imperfections that aren't there.

I purchased the heat chambers and assembled everything up until the the moment I needed to hand screw in the temperature sensor. The k sensor from the set recommended in the description doesn't match the thread of the heat chamber so I can't actually screw it in. The tapped hole is a m6x1, but the one provided in the kit is likely 1.25mm. I can't find any couplings on amazon that are actually 1mm. I'm going to have to shop around, but it's kinda annoying because I can't release the temperature controller from the provided .stl file for the 3d printed encasing. Perhaps it would be better to sell the actual kits on your store like the ac switch to avoid this in the future. Thank you. It's been fun to build up until this point.
@BusterBeagle3D
@BusterBeagle3D Ай бұрын
Hi. A vast majority of the PID kits come with an M6 attachment on them which is why I switched that thermocouple hole to an M6. It's actually somewhat rare that you find one with a 1/4-20 hole. The top hole is actually still a 1/4-20 standard size hole if you want to test your thermocouple. Also you don't have to completely remove your PID from the 3D print to remove those wires. Just completely unscrew the screws holding them on and you should be able to release them. As for the thermocouple that fits you can also find them in many locations online including this one on Amazon. amzn.to/48i8fiM
@BusterBeagle3D
@BusterBeagle3D Ай бұрын
I actually just re-read what you said. It actually should be an M6 x1 and not a M6x1.25. If you bought it a long time ago or it somehow got mixed with the older versions of my chamber it's would be a 1/4-20 bolt. You can tell if this is the case by screwing the bolt from the top of the chamber into the bottom. If it fits its the 1/4-20.
@snyper182000
@snyper182000 Ай бұрын
@@BusterBeagle3D You're right, the top is the 1/4"-20 and bottom is 1/4"-28. I obviously can't install it on the the top since you said the bolt ontop is to brace the cylinder for potential suction. I ordered a different coupling anyway which should be fine. Thanks for the reply.

@@snyper182000 If the bottom is different then the top then it is an M6 x1. I know having metric and imperial on the same part is insane. Once I get through my stock I will convert everything to metric but it might be a bit.

If you mean the 3D engraving then yes it would. I have not tried colors on gold or silver and not 100% sure if that works with those materials. Hi. it's an aluminum block that I happened to have laying around. It doesn't need to be that big or even out of aluminum. It just needs to be some sort of flat metal that you can engrave about a mm or two into to be able to set the coin down. You can even search amazon for aluminum block and you will find some but again it could be a bracket you buy at a hardware store or a scrape piece from somewhere.
