There is a bunch of good technical advice in here. But understanding the mental side of racing another person shows the true racer. What Bill Auberlen and The Dinger point out here is important as well.

It's amazing how close the iRacing simulation duplicates the high speed oval experience. You really do get loss of front grip running behind cars into turns. The chassis tuning has to be precise, or you lose your tires far too early. Then you have to stay on top of your car changing by adjusting the anti-roll bars and weight jacker. Definitely not as easy as it looks.

No vehicle likes being abused. The number of workshop visits of road cars says a lot about their drivers. Jackie is right about the driving approach. Max preserves his car better than others because of his feel for it. The RB20 is not to his liking but he is putting it on podiums regularly. That's the result of driving more than the car itself. What people see as aggression is calculatedly playing the penalty system. He will take penalties where he knows he can make up for it in points for self and team. In Brazil, by his own admission, he did not start the race calmly. But his execution showed exactly what Jackie is talking about.

Max is actually the most smoothest, so least aggressive driver in the sense of his driving style. He has kinda the mix of Senna and Schumacher in his driving, both the style and the aggressiveness against others. Now I’m not telling that he is better or anything like that than the other two drivers mentioned above, but his personality and driving is very similar.

All racing drivers are grown differently, respect to them all! If he didn't try & bully others by driving them off, he'd be shear class. But sadly, he's done that in lots of races & that's his MO I think.
@maxwoomer372
@maxwoomer372 Ай бұрын
It's not bullying, its just racing. Aayrton senna did the same, but no one complains about him, michael schumacher did it even more but no one criticises him. How about we just let drivers drive agressively and give us a better show to watch
