Was this in the southern region of the park by chance? I will be there next week and hoping to see both of these species 🤞🏼

As an avid brook falls bear watcher it was amazing to see your photos! I almost didn’t recognize the bears with the clarity and light your pictures bring. Amazing! The one you called king is Walker 151. He is know for his shorter legs 😁. He has never looked better than in your photos! I believe that was 804 ? Sitting on top of the falls. And Wallflower ( forget the number) he is sitting back to the rocks. Love seeing them through your lens’s. Thank you

I'm going in a few days, do you think it's safe to wear contacts or is the risk too high?
@steveboice4 ай бұрын
I am not familiar with how easy it is for contacts to fall out. I would ask your rafting guide on the day of. The water level is most likely pretty high right now. I would recommend wearing a pair of inexpensive sunglasses but I have never lost a pair and I go rafting every year.
@bloodoftyrants91724 ай бұрын
@steveboice Thank you. One more question if you don't mind, is the raft organized by Bodyweight? Or do you get to sit next to who you wish. Or is it determined another way?
@steveboice4 ай бұрын
@@bloodoftyrants9172 Most of the time they just ask who wants to sit up front. They usually try to keep the rest of the groups together unless there really is a weight issue.

I'm a Nikon shooter. If you were to pick one zoom would it be the 70-200mm f2.8 or the 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 given that you also have a 500mm or 600mm prime ?
@steveboice11 ай бұрын
I would take the 70-200 over the 100-400 if you are going to Kruger or Saba Sands, assuming you have a 400, 500, or 600 prime. If going somewhere in East Africa, I would opt for the 100-400 over the 70-200. In either case probably 80% of my shots were with one of the big prime lenses.

@@jessievang651 I wouldn't wear presciption glasses unless you have a strap on them. The intermediate route isn't too scary. As long as you are going with a commercial guide/outfitter, you should be pretty safe. My advice would be to rent their wetsuits, boots, and maybe a splash jacket.
