Can you buy this album ?
@martenellenpullens91584 жыл бұрын
No, alas not. I've collected all the songs of "80 Days" a long time ago from Internet. The only song not available on the worldwide web was "A place in your heart", but that song is released on Ray's "Americana" album a few years ago. What I did was burn all the songs on a cd, so I have a kind of album with all the demos. I advise you to do the same by downloading them and then make your own cd.....

It was never really recorded, Paul. 80 Days just exists on the Internet in demo's. I collected them all a long time ago in downloads. There are people who made a cd of it for their own use. So did I. I still hope sir Ray will produce and release sometime an album of the musical "80 Days". He wrote it in 1988 and it is performed a few times in California then. The song "A place in your heart" was never available on the Internet, but was as a great surprise released three years ago on Ray's first "Americana" album. The only advise I can give at this moment is to download all the demos from the Internet and make a cd for yourself or look for such a cd on the worldwide web from someone who sells copies.....

It must have been written in 1987/88, in those days Ray was working on the musical and it was on stage in 1988.....

Brilliant shows, I was at all 3 of the shows he did there, the very last show he dedicated to me to at the end of the show! My long time friends Ira from Yo La Tengo and Ira from Nada Surf were part of his back up band for these shows.

It's on a bootleg double cd "Ray Davies Live off Broadway" (Jane Street Theatre, NY, August 25, 2000).

Thanksgiving Day Written by: Ray Davies Lyrics: Are you going on Thanksgiving Day To those family celebrations? Passing on knowledge down through the years At the gathering of generations Every year it's the same routine All over, all over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day Papa looks over at the small gathering Remembering days gone by Smiles at the children as he watches them play And wishes his wife was still by his side She would always cook dinner on Thanksgiving Day It's all over, it's all over It's all over the American way But sometimes the children are so far away And in a dark apartment on the wrong side of town A lonely spinster prays For a handsome lover and a passionate embrace And kisses all over, all over All over her American face It's all over, it's all over, it's all over 'Cause today she feels so far away From the friends in her hometown So she runs for the Greyhound She'll spend hours on the bus but she'll reach town For Thanksgiving Day Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day Come on over, come on over Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day At a truck stop a man sits alone at the bar Estranged in isolation It's been a while now and he seems so far From those distant celebrations He thinks back to all the mistakes that he made To a time when he was so young and green Innocent days when they both looked forward to that Great American dream Now it's all over, it's all over, all over And all over America people are going home On Thanksgiving Day Now Papa looks out of the window The sight brings a smile to his face He sees all his children coming back home Together on this special day Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day Come on over, come on over Come on over, it's Thanksgiving Day This song can be found on the following releases: Thanksgiving Day EP 22 Nov, 2005 USA V2 Music 63881-27286-2 CD EP Other People's Lives
