Why do parents uphold their children in their wrongdoing and think that is love? Even people who say they believe in God, and some who call themselves Christians. I will never understand that. Never. If I love my children, I will always encourage them to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences. I will teach them to take ownership of their actions and support them as they face the consequences. Why do some people think loving someone means supporting their wrong actions? How is that love? So, they do the wrong thing and you have their back, then they think, ok, even when I'm wrong, I'll have their support, so they become fearless in doing wrong. That's not the way. It's not what God's Word teaches, and it's not what any right thinking parent would do.

Why is the child being blamed for what happened to her mother? She kept telling her mother to speak the truth to her husband, and the mother refused! The only person responsible for the mother's situation is the mother. So, she is trying to teach her child that it's ok to tell lies and blame others for the consequences that follow, rather than taking responsibility for your own wrongdoing? Yet she and her mother don't see anything wrong about that or what the mother did? Unbelievable. It's always easy for us humans to make the wrong choices of our own free will, against better advice, but we always want to assign blame to others when it's time to reap the rewards of our actions. Hmm.
