People love to talk shit but the infantry doesn’t really change all that much. This is the same shiz they were doing back in the 90s. People will always act like they had it tougher etc. but in reality the army has always worked with what they have- since the beginning of the military they have needed bodies and that means they will push people through because of something specific they bring to the table. This is nothing new. And it’s the same sentiment to the people who are complaining about females in the infantry. We are graded to a different standard because we have biologically different bodies and we bring different strengths to the table. The army has always worked with what they have and that’s not going to change and has never changed.
@_DMNO_Ай бұрын
Different strengths? Can you give examples?
@Miswhitness0520Ай бұрын
@@_DMNO_ some people are better at things than others: shooting, agility, ability to think coherently under pressure, if you have a smaller frame you usually have better balance, some are more flexible than others etc etc. At the end of the day, when we’re talking about the possibility of combat, men and women both have useful strengths. And just because someone may be a super beast physically, it doesn’t mean that they won’t get lit up by gunfire as soon as they step foot into a combat zone. War is a game, and sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. We all deserve an opportunity as long as we’re pushing HARD.

I go to basic on September 3rd as a 74D CBRN Specialist, the main thing im worried abt is the 2mr, i started runnin like a month ago but i got runners knee and just recently it went away n im back, my best run time was 3 days ago which was 9:49 in 1 mile, i feel like i put too much in the 1 mile time but stop running competitively for the 2nd mile, ima start doin both to get used to it but its hard to run long distances with no brakes, not because of my legs but because of my heart rate and beathing, but im workin on it (im not fat im basically what u described, a skinny couch potato lol)
@KingCurt209Ай бұрын
Hey brother sorry for the late reply but I love you're trying to stay active and yeah that injury is a big setback but you sound like you're on the right path! Just try to worry about pacing and not burning through the 1st mile then struggling the 2nd. Find the right time for you and push for the best but for getting in and at the moment now as long as you fit the deadline for your age & weight you'll pass. Best of luck!!

@JacobHester-k9e yep in my platoon alone during basic we had about 4-5 guys over the age of 25 one of them being 38 barely making the age limit to get in but those were the best guys to talk to during any downtime loved the stories and going in older you'll learn to become a leader really quick n have alot of your battle buddies looking up to you for advice on pretty much anything

My son is going to BCT 8/18. What if they can’t run the 2 miles in the beginning? What will get them sent home?
@KingCurt2092 ай бұрын
@girlee0303 there are many things that can get them "recycled" where they stay and continue training till they can complete the tasks then be put with a different class to still have a chance to graduate. It's unlikely you'll get sent home unless it's something medical they didn't catch at meps or you get in trouble really early on

to keep it short increase your calories and protien intake and slowly implement weight training to your routine, if you cant do a pull up start with dead hangs. do pushups in sets so like 10-15 then pause for a minute and bang that out again. just dont hurt yourself going too hard too early on and make sure you enjoy a form of weight training that you actually enjoy or find beneficial to you
