Guy. I was reading about this, I found myself in this situation, because I was researching the franchise "Bubba Gump" from the movie "Forest", because there they offer this dish, "Hoppin' John", that's when I thought, "hey this is our 'baiao de dois'" lol

Portuguese don't put in our food honey, sugar as condiments......The chicken needs to be marinated 8hrs in the sauce... This is your personal version and not the authentic Piri Piri Chicken.

@@krrgeneralcontractor3853 where did I mention Portuguese? And who said Piri Piri is only made/eaten in Portugal?

Idk what that other guy is talking about with the pepper. Im Cuban/Puerto Rican from Miami. Everyone from my parents to my great grandmother (whos still alive) cooks with black pepper.

I love to add black cardamom to my potato salad for its smokey flavor and a little aniseed for a light licorish flavor! I also add besobela (Etheopian holy basil) but that one is harder to find. Idk how "black folk style" that is lol but I LOOOVE my potato salad spicy too so I add dried kashmiri chilis. I have never added mustard though. I don't see myself skipping it ever in the future, mustard is a keeper! I can't believe I've been leaving it out for years 👀

wow, you're spicing it up for real! I wish i could find some besobela in Texas. Might have to start growing it

Is red beans like kidney beans or are they totally a different bean?
@FoodFidelity3 ай бұрын
good question. they are similar. for this recipe i used red kidney beans. hopefully this isn't confusing.
@garryc.millerjr.80422 ай бұрын
It's a kidney bean, they are two names for the same bean.

My question is could I use the red kidney beans that’s in the can so I don’t gotta wait 2 hours or I have to use the hard red kidney beans that’s in the bag ?
