This 2016-2017 season and the next two were simply magical for me. So, so much hope and so fun. It was all new and like found gold, after the last 11years of mediocrity. In hindsight, I think the peak of the new era. Matthews, Marner, and Nylander all coming in at the same time on their ELCs, taking the League by storm, blended with other young players like Hyman, Brown and Kapanen, and incumbent good players like Kadri, Bozak, Van Riemsdyk and Komorov. Everyone young and super hungry. A decent defence with Reilly, and Freddie Andersen standing tall in net. Years two and three bounced in 7 games by the Cup-calibre Bruins, with Naz getting suspended for both and Babs unflexible (could have tipped the scales). Even those crisp blue unies with no ads and the ropes at the collar were gorgeous. But year 4 starting to have to pay the superstars thus losing that vital second-tier in the Cap system (even with Tavares coming in). Then Covid hit in 2020, they lost Freddie and everything changed. Clark-Gilmour-Burns in the early 90's, the Sundin-Cujo-Quinn era and then this last one. I absolutely loved those teams. Thanks for the incredible ride guys.

Last game of the season so close to ending a major playoff drought. This was an important moment for every leafs fan.

I was there. Place was 80% Leafs jerseys. Buffalo came back to take the lead and the Sabres fans started chanting, This Is Our House as a reminder to us occupants from north of the border. Buds tie it late to send it to OT. Austin scores, the place comes completely unglued. Absolute mayhem. Just yelling, Yah over and over again. People leaping in celebration. The dude in front of me turned around at one point and hugged me around my knees. Someone behind me was just patting me on the back. I was aggressively shaking my buddy by his shoulders while we all got completely lost in the moment. The single most electrifying crowd reaction I’ve experienced. Then for good measure, Leafs fans returned the favour in deafening fashion, This Is OUR House all the way out of the arena into the streets. What a beauty!!!

Kappy we miss u.. I wish we could of kept him. But our "Cap" didn't let "Kap" stay, pun intended lol :( I always thought Kappy would be the one to score the Stanley Cup series winner for us when he was on the leafs.. he was so clutch because of his speed would catch teams off guard.
