What leaf springs do you have?
@tecovas39982 жыл бұрын
My jeep has a mixture of locally made custom springs & Black Diamond brand. They have about 3” of lift. Bam Bam, the MB is running stock CJ5 springs, I think.

Lower gears would help, but not sure about the strength of the axles with the intense leverage of those 34inch tires, years ago i had a 1977 chevy 1 ton van with a pathfinder 4x4 conversion and after lifting it about 8 inches, i was able to fit these exact size tires on it, they give incredible traction were you need it and people can hear you coming a 1/4mile away, but driving them on the street wore them down in no time especialy when i drove fast and was hard on the brakes, but it was worth it, i even drove it to montana from california and back by way of washington state, i miss those days, but i digress.......................

Love your CJ2a, would it be possible to make a video about the modifications on your Willys, mainly your steering and disc brake set up. I’m interested in how you installed the steering shaft using the stock column and how you navigated around the exhaust and the year Saginaw box you used. Thanks

Thx for the compliment. I’ll try and make a walk-around video with that info pretty soon. I’m busy prepping the jeep right for another Rubicon trip. 😁 make sure you’re subscribed so you get notified when I post that video.

man! coolest tyres i have seen since my olds 750/16!!! how do you steering to left and right without touch the chassis? Here i was using willys pickup truck axles with 265/85R16 tyres to keeping turning well. very nice! next itens in my x-mas list...
@tecovas39983 жыл бұрын
I adjust the steering knuckle bump stop screws. They still rub the front springs a little. No worries tho, because they are super strong tires.

@@tecovas3998 yes, but it will reduce the radius of steering in trails doesn't? today I'm using the original axles in my CJ3A, but i'm using that spacers between wheels and disk brakes to alow the tyres turn without hit the chassis...
