Omg, when I saw Daphne like this as a kid, even then I gulped

"Your glockenspiel has sprung to life!" An iconic line. One of the best scenes of this show. In Romania 🇹🇩, 30 years after its first episode, "Frasier" is watched by young and old people alike.

That moment at 1:11 always made me suspect that Daphne knew Niles was going to make a move and was ready to accept it, but sadly accepted the fact that Niles couldn't cheat on his wife.
@bricktam7 ай бұрын
That's an interesting catch. Jane Leeves said in a later interview that Daphne always had a small crush on Niles. However, she didn't think she'd ever have a chance because he loved the fine things in life and she came from a lower class background so she became "oblivious" and treated his flirtations as being polite.

Rare misstep: Daphne is laying there with her eyes shut, when she opens them Niles is just inches away from her face yet she doesn't react. As soon as i saw that i remembered how odd i thought it the first time i saw it all those years ago.

Glad it's on here. Couldn't spell the name of the clock. So funny, the beginning of Daphne and Niles!! Then The Devil and Dr Phil, season 11, with Frasier and BeBe, it's a scream.
@leslieawest50623 жыл бұрын
Oh my, it's on UTUBE, it's been so long, season one, I thought this scene was further in the series. This one I really really liked, and the BeBe, season 11 the Devil and Dr Phil, was a scream. Glad they both are on here. I'm getting great joy watching these wonderful clips again. There were alot of great sitcoms back then. MTM show, after the Dick Van Dyke show,, ETC...Just so many well written well acted ones. WOW!!!

I like how the clock working again is both a joke about sex and a reminder for Niles (and shows the audience) that he still loves Maris, because the thought of *her* happiness still makes *him* happy. Also, I like how he describes their love as "familiar" and contrasts it with the "passion" he feels for Daphne. It's just such good writing for a comedy tv show.
@SashGirl342 жыл бұрын
It to me foreshadows that his married to Maris isn't as happy as it seems if you address it as familiar...when he still pining and was willing to have an affair with Daphne. Until he was reminded of his marriage. Frasier and Martin trying to stop it when he believes that Niles would attempt....and outside in the rain and such. Hilarious.

My favorite ep. But they skipped the funny reference to Wuthering Heights. This and the reclining chair ep were my favorites. Jane Leeves is stunningly beautiful. She was a classicly trained ballroom dancer too. She was smoking hot in the red dress episode where her and Niles are ballroom dancing. The actor who plays Niles is gay in real life and he played this roll so well.
