If anyone remembers what 1998 Yamaha YZ125s were like…Dowd was holding back…and Reynard as an amateur was a way more dominant champion than Ricky Carmichael was…Ricky crashed out of a lotta races & championships…speaking as a retired professional motocross & supercross racer… if I were Ricky I’d have ridden into the pits & said to Chad (his mechanic at the time, Chad Watts) “Listen, I want the front sprocket 25% larger, I want the rear sprocket 30% smaller, I want a KX60 flywheel put in my bike so the drastically lower rotating mass inside the engine will make it feel like a KX250!!

I forgot how badass that track was, and how grating Sam Posey’s commentary was. He could drone on forever without really saying anything important.

Look at the crowds👌not that way nowadays from what I can tell…those were better times when things were changing SO fast in MX every week it seemed like. Great bikes…even to this day!

Red flagging it was absolutely the right thing to do. The 2023 Nashville SX last weekend when Cooper Webb went down and was accidentally hit in the head by the #9 Kawi shouldve been red flagged as well. That was a shit judgement call by the promoters

I think that the AMA should most definitely bring back the premier class 500cc two stroke outdoor MX national championship again ! Absolutely loved racing these big bore monsters and even more watching the PRO'S do what amateurs could only dream of doing on them !

That was a good last race for RC4! I was there on the side of the whoops... Track definitely was chewed up. But they desimated the rest of the field... They were the only race on the track worth watching... kinda like watching two guys killin a video game for how much faster they were than everyone else out there! It was the passing of the torch that in 1993 McGrath took in Tampa SX and not real sure right now what race RC dethroned The King? But at least I was there for two passing of the torch supercross races... with the absolute best of the best ever before or ever will be after... TheRealJS7 earned his right of passage this race taking the torch from RC! Behind the scenes was TheReal259!

At fifty two years old when I watch these races on hardpack I can feel the pain of crashing my brains out. Thankfully I now ride much more controlled than I did at sixteen, but I'm still feeling the pain of those impacts.

James goes faster through the woops because his suspension is super stiff, plus he over jumps jumps so that's the way he goes so fast plus likes it stiff for that reason.
