So, a family member bought me a 940 clone for Christmas. I could tell right away it was a clone but I have to be honest, it’s a lot better quality than I would have imagined. I decided to carry it for the past few weeks just to see how it performs and again, I am quite surprised. Looks, fit and finish are remarkable for the actual price. The blade sharpened up easy and seems to perform like 440c or 8cr from what I can tell.

I sir am not a member of the dead bee society.. also I think they started out making titanium parts for Benchmade and I believe they made the logo more as a tribute than trying to bee like them.. 🤣see what I did there

I'm sooooo confused right now, do I want to get the Para 3 S45VN, Para 3 S110V or this Deka? And if so, magnacut or 20CV? Lots of choices to make 😁
@H20cofilmandphoto21122 ай бұрын
@xrv404 it really all depends on your personal needs if you want edge retention s110v is the better option. If you need something more hard use even tho none of those are really hard use folders the Para 3 comes closer to a hard use folder then the deka for sure. Then again if ypu want a great balance of super corrosion resistance tuffness and edge retention plus easy sharpening you can't beat magnacut steel. Really its all up to how u use it blades

This is not a push button, it's a button lock
@H20cofilmandphoto21123 ай бұрын
Haha yeah ok and it's not a knife it's a blade, oh and I don't drive a car I drive an automobile. And when I drive that automobile I don't press the gas pedal I press the accelerator. Lmfao Who gives a shit what term someone uses? Benchmade calls their lock an "access lock", and Hogue calls the very same lock the "able lock." Companies name their locks differently due to patent restrictions on the names of designs causing copyright infringements on those names. That's why there are so many names for a "Crossbar" lock throughout the folding knife community. And If you want to get super technical it's not called a "button lock" either, in fact, the original 1893 us patent # 492,717 on the lock created by George Shrade has it listed as a "plunge lock" by name. The point is does it matter which term I or anyone else use. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see it and know what it is and how it functions. But I'm so glad you were here to comment & correct my horrendous misuse of terminology/name used to describe the lock. I swear idk where we would be in the world if not for heroes like you. Hats off to you sir! Lastly, I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day of I'm assuming correcting other people's Grammer on the posts that come across your FB feed to view my video. Thanks again and have a great day.

My favorite knife on planet earth is the benchmade 940-1. This version has carbon fiber handles and s90v steel. It is so light you can't even feel it carrying it. Love the ergos. Love the blade design. Love the s90v steel. It doesn't hurt that I got it from a dealer that sold it to me for $250 back around 2016. I've bought many benchmades from this guy way below what they sell for everywhere else. This proves the margin for profit is there to sell them cheaper. Benchmade just prohibits most knife retailers from selling (mostly just advertising) their knives below the price they set. Spyderco PM2 is my 2nd favorite. Would love to get one of the fancy limited edition versions of the pm2 smkw puts out occasionally.

I own a few Benchmade fakes. I'm proud to own and claim they are fake. I will not spend the stupid amounts of money to buy a real one. Their logo ain't worth hundreds of dollars to me. I carry a fake mini stimulus every day. It's fast as shit and decent knife especially for 20 bucks. I would never sell them for real knife prices. I don't plan to sell them at all. I'm buying more soon. I'm not a knife snob like so many out there. I've had many great pocket knives from gun shows for 10-20 bucks. I bought 1 knife that cost 230 bucks. A Buck 110 automatic. You know what it does?? It sits in a sleeve put away and I almost never touch it. I feel like companies like Benchmade are completely full of themselves but when you got as many fan boys as Glock, I guess it's bound to go to their heads. Back in the day when S&W and Colt made high quality firearms they were less overpriced then than these BM knives are now by a lot. For the kind of money it takes to buy a Benchmade, I want a firearm for that kind of dough. I'm a gun guy who has recently started collecting knives. Not collecting to have an investment like I have, so to speak, with guns. I'm collecting to have a bunch. I thought gun guys were nuts for the shit they spend their money on, but knife guys are outta their minds lol. Some guy on here owns a shit ton of stupidly expensive knives, carries at least one or two daily and has said they are not for self defense, utility only lol wow. I carry a knife and a gun and brass knuckles for self defense, but I've never needed them I do have to say. I'll use a knife for other random shit, but I started so I have something to stick someone with when I am at work because that's about the only place I don't have my gun. I go into a LOT of random houses. Pretty much everyone has always been co, or cool enough to not get stabbed but with as many as I go in, you just never know who you're gonna encounter. Also can't justify spending 200, 300, 400 even 500 bucks on one knife and go out and use it regularly letting it get scratched up in my pocket and wearing it out. There is no way a damn "Bug Out" costs 200 bucks to produce. There's just no way.

I have purchased a TON of expensive knives over the years (microtech, benchmade, etc) and have somewhat recently started buying knockoff knives to compare to my expensive ones...if you aren't looking for a "life or death" knife, buy the dhgate clone for 1/4 or 1/10th of the price. Blade steel will be a bit softer, but quality is so similar that I don't find it worth the extra $. Just don't try to tell people you own a "microtech" or "benchmade" when you own a Chinese knockoff.
@H20cofilmandphoto21127 ай бұрын
Maybe I'd be ok with that if I wasn't such a damn steel snob. I just don't see the point in spending any money on a knife with a shitty steel. in my mind the performance of the steel is the only thing that really matters at the end of the day. The entire purpose of a cutting tool is to cut efficiently effectively and for a long time so if I get a clone that I have to sharpen after every use I almost feel as if it defeats the purpose of the tool itself. I'd rather have a ugly blade with a great steel over a blade that looks like it's expensive but doesn't cut worth a damn every time. 1 good knife will last a life time we're as if you have to keep replacing crappy knives every time they break ypu may have well have just spent the money on the good knife. I just would assume in the long run it'd actually be cheaper because it's not just the cost of the item but what you get out of that item for your monet that really makes the knife worth it's keep if that makes sense.
