Great job, Band! Speaking as the person who wrote this, you blew it up! Congratulations! - Randall Standridge, composer "Celebration"

What are the rest of the fuses for?

You can see the label for the rear fuse box in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZDddImZeNN_rtk

Would have been nice to know if you got any lights in the dash as a result of removing that fuse.

Good Question: I did not get any dashboard warning lights with the fuse removed

Anymore has ever heard like a almost “dog whistle noise” after locking or unlocking the car. It makes this noise for like a second or two then stops then does it three to 4 more times. Any answers?
@teetlebomb2 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard a noise like that. My Volt does occasionally spin up some fans and pumps, I presume to cool the battery, after a drive. Maybe that could be the sound you are referring to

great so now the pedestrians in parking lots will stay in the middle of the lane and not move tf out of your way...
@Einhander492 жыл бұрын
It's there for a reason. As annoying as it is, there;s no poit in removing the sound if its for PEDESTRIAN safety.
@patstenzel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, it's such an annoying sound, to me it sounds like an alternator baring going out.

During the zombie apocalypse, being quiet will be very important, as Rick and Carl have demonstrated walkers are attracted to sound. Less sound the better.

I’m wondering why the Volt has to RIP? I wonder if it had anything to do with the pedestrian protection sound being eliminated.. Hope a pedestrian wasn’t ..

A+ for being succinct and clear! Now the only sound those annoying pedestrians will hear is sound of their own bones crushing while my car silently rolls over them! :)

Did you lose any other functions in the car when this fuse was pulled? I've read the "Charge Commencing" chirp is also disabled if this fuse is not present.
@teetlebomb5 жыл бұрын
I don't recall what the "charge commencing" chirp was, though I have read also that it is disabled. I have not noticed any other lost functions

I was reading on the forums some people had theorized it might be possible to install an arduino with a soundcard or something similar to put your own custom sound into the "pedestrian protection" speaker. Have you found anything about this in your research?
@teetlebomb5 жыл бұрын
Nothing yet. Been following forums too about this. I am more of a implementer-er versus a tinker-er. If somebody comes up with a "package" solution that works, I will get excited about it

I'd love to make my own sound, then have a few different options. I'm thinking Tie Fighter screech would be pretty fantastic on my own "Heather Grey" model. If just for the lol's.

Instead of a meta tweezers, use a commercial plastic fuse puller. It is safer and manufactured to grasp the fuse correctly. The tweezers can cause new problems, including accidental shorts. Keep a plastic fuse puller inside that fuse box.

ThanX for the tip. I was using an old PC repair kit, and it was the best I had laying around

@@teetlebomb ... Check your other fuse block compartments. There should already be one in your vehicle. In my 2019 it's supposed to be in the engine compartment fuse block.
