Isn't this a bit long-winded for a TV advert? I've seen plenty of commercials advertising toy cars and toy car sets, but they've never been as long and three-and-a-half minutes.

LSD was played in the background in the episode when Spiderman was recalling his encounter with the mole people.
Very adventurous series .....both musically and visually .....lots of psychedelic backgrounds and camera pan shots across still images combined with eclectic jazz and swing8ng rock and roll made this Spiderman series a brilliant cartoon .

Tens of thousands of man hours of painstaking research and engineering! 1200 mph vs 11.36 mph
@johncannonnh11 ай бұрын
1200 mph? 😂 30 feet in 1.8 seconds. I guess almost 12 mph doesnt sound as good. To convert feet per second to miles per hour, you can use the following conversion factor: 1 mile = 5280 feet 1 hour = 3600 seconds So, to convert 16.67 feet per second to miles per hour: Speed (in miles per hour) = (16.67 feet per second) * (3600 seconds per hour) / (5280 feet per mile) Speed ≈ 11.36 miles per hour So, 30 feet in 1.8 seconds is approximately 11.36 miles per hour.

When I was a kid in the early seventies, it was all about Hot Wheels. The only reason I know Johnny Lightning exists is that I heard my older brother mention them offhand, as we were circumnavigating our house with Hot Wheels tracks, while our parents were at work. I can't even find anything really informative about their history on line? Where can I find out about there history? They seem neat, and poised to rival Hot Wheels for a brief time. Why did they disappear?

They never really rivaled Hot Wheels....But they were quite cool...

Are these the original soundtracks to the 1967 Spiderman cartoon, or are they re-recordings by other artists? Other ultra-outstanding cartoon soundtracks are "Jonny Quest" 1964, "Gigantor" 1964, "Lone Ranger" 1966, and "Fantastic Voyage" 1968.

Wow I had that set new. I think the starter gadget wore out so we parked it in storage and then Hurricane Agnes flooded the basement and we lost all our old toys. Slot cars, JLs Hot Wheels etc. all gone. Flood muds so nasty. Thanks for posting this. Bet these bring good money at swaps.

Had both JL and Hot Wheels and can attest that JL cars were faster. But this commercial is hype city. They had more designers and engineers for a race track than NASA had on the Apollo missions if you go by that.
