@@Coma-Berenices I am aware that helo rushes can get way spicier with USSR but that's the reason why I am betting mostly on BTR-152 TCM and not the Machbet. Radarless, so Ka-52 is useless and since I can have so many of them for cheap, a couple of Hinds would not be able to get through. Yeah, I heard plenty about Karagoth, one of the Wargame's legends :)

I suppose I can give some pointers as to how counter helo rushes. There three main aspects to it. - Building your deck correctly - Recognizing a helo rush - Countering it 1. Deck building: Cheap SPAAGs are the best way of countering a helo rush, preferably without radars so they can not be SEADed. In all my decks I ran some kind of spaag or at least in general a cheap AA option. Missiles are discouraged because, while they will deal a lot of damage, they won't stun and heli can easily stun the launcher with rocket pods. Speed isn't important but I prefer something fast to have along with my opener. Second thing you want is a recon heli for spotting the rush a bit earlier. I do not advise buying planes for scouting because if your opponent starts without helis, the plane isn't useful. 2. Recognizing a helo rush: The only way to recognize who is and isn't a helo rusher is to add them to your block list. This however means that helo rushers will not type anything in chat, so you can't block them. Sinply say "hi" at the beginning of every game and if you get no response It may be someone who wants to rush you. Another thing is to pay attention to the deployment time. Deploying for a rush is pretty fast so it your opponent is quick to deploy it may be fishy. In this game however, the rank of my opponent tipped me of. They deployed rather quickly, despite being inexperienced - as for their message on chat, I assume they either weren't aware about the block thingy or didn't care about ranked enough anyway (which in that case would mean that I can probably invest in AA a bunch more and still be fine, since I am more experienced). If you suspect that the rush is coming you should deploy a bunch of spaags in the direction that serves as the shortest path between the two spawns. It's also good to get a recon helo going. If you don't spot the main blon early in the game, nor a significantly ground force, deploy recon helos around the flanks and retreat some of your aa for the spawn. In general, if you can't spot enemy forces you must do everything to find them, doesn't matter if it's a helo rush or not 3. Countering a helo rush: Buy as much cheap AA as you can. Do not buy planes, they are very cosnt inefficient. Reroute your AA to intercept the blob and protect your CV. Investing in more CVs is a bad idea since you are not investing in AA. All your other ground forces that are either too slow or ineffective against helis should be rushing for enemy spawn zone. think that mostly it

Definitely one of the top ones, recent patch did buff it a lot. Although, I would argue that some decks are a pretty hard counter to it - SA AT capability is pretty bad and Rooikats lose to heavy auto-cannons. It does however excel if your opponent is unaware of what they are facing, as it usually is in ranked

@@filip7275 usually if you know you are up against SA, you could win almost everytime. the main problem is the information warfare. by the time you see the cheetah opener, or rooikat rush, its already ogre unless you have a similar build with fast map control. LCOL, philodo here

@@YuqingChan Yeah, I get your point. SA isn't the only deck that can be this dangerous in the opener. Same goes for Italy, blue mixed, Commonwealth and even France/Eurocorps to a certain degree, so I think it's justified to always be somewhat prepared for a fast motorized push in the opener. We will have to get used to a new meta and adjust our decks and play styles accordingly. Currently I am not too far from LCOL myself (45th, 1738 elo) - the vid is more than a month old at this point. You're posting your decks on Reddit sometimes, right? I think I have seen some of them

@@filip7275 the decks that i post are almost close to what i actually play with. i usually post them and try to defend the losing side of the dilemma for unit choice is how i make my decks lol Any form of blue moto right now is absolutely ridiculous and yes, you can achieve the same wheeled fire power with centauros, vickers, or amx 10RCs. I would say SA is among some of the more ridiculous min maxing on the wheel play and arguably blue moto is strong because of some SA components more than Italian imo, at least some of the crucial units that are involved. in general just a huge moto buff for 1v1s which kinda ticks me off coming from a mech player.

@@YuqingChan As a moto. player I am kinda mixed about the patch. One the one hand my favorite decks all got buffed, on the other hand playing them doesn't feel as special anymore. I used to play CMW moto. all the time and I genuinely have never seen anyone play it outside of KZbin videos (on their smurf accounts). I am not saying it was weak or anything, rather very few people managed to actually discover the potential of the deck. Despite that it feels really off seeing ppl call it "op" now - that fits buffed SA way better and truth being told, I am guilty of, embracing it as well. I am curious, which SA units do you consider more important than Italian ones in Blue moto?

When I was building my deck I initially chose Ystervark because of it's stabilizer. My idea for this card was mainly for openers, such as in this match, I wanted to counter a potential strong helo opening a bit better, with spaags stunning up front and heavier AA shooting from further behind, I thought that a stabilizer would be welcome for that. I didn't really explore the idea of using Bosvark, because of it's firing pattern. All the ZU-23s fire a short burst before they need a long reload. While that burst deals a lot of damage and basically guarantees a stun on a heli, from my experience, the heli would often recover and start shooting back first. In a situation of multiple Bosvarks vs multiple helis all of the AA pieces would open up on a single heli, dealing all the damage immediately, wasting stunning potential and allowing other helis to shoot. Ystervark on the other hand will 'catch' the heli and won't let go, unless something else interrupts it. It's a bit of a shame that it doesn't really do that much damage or suppression, but I think that both units have a similar DPM overall. It also has more ground range, which can be pretty useful on low-intensity fronts or in all-in openers like in this game. It's interesting to point out that Bosvark would do way better against planes, since it will fire the entire clip almost immediatly, making best of short time the plane will be in it's range EDIT: Ystervark also has 5% acc advantage (20% to 15%) and veterancy higher by 1 level
