This kid rushed out into "turning Rasta" bought touristy, weekend warriors clothes and hats, got the salon style dreadlocks, if you could call them that, perfectly sectioned into little squares, copying the barefoot rasta by also taking off his shoes instead of walking his own path and letting his dreads happen naturally. At that age I didn't know what I wanted to do but gradually it all just happened naturally. I'm 50 years old and my third set of dreadlocks are forming after cutting them last year after growing them for 13 years. Slow down kid and it'll just happen on its own instead of chasing or trying to force it. When he said the hairdresser told him not to wet his "dreads" I face palmed myself, the knowledge and lesson shared in the Empress Shower section of this documentary, is the truth, 38:32

Don’t mean to come out disrespectful, but it’s odd how a movement! Became a so called way of life! Group of ppl culturally making their own traditions. Ethiopian movement hahaha Hailey was not always a good man. According to his actions. Hailey calling ALL THE BLACKS! Hahaha and saying he’s god 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️

Basically don't want to be part of "Babylon" so they went to Ethiopia and created their own Babylon with barb wires and water jugs and smoking cars that constantly break down. Hilarious.

And the electricity on the end that was the cherry on top. Like they reject all the technology and still use it 😂 Tragic

A true religion of JAH will not be prejudiced or discriminate. In heaven, everyone is one with JAH. Ethiopia is a good land. The Bible makes it clear that the New Zion will not be built by the hands of any man, but it will be brought down from the cosmos by the JAH (who self- resurrected on the 3rd day after His death) and place it on this earth as He recreates a new earth before our eyes, and all of Babylon will burn in the fire of recreation (Revelation 21).

This documentary has become my favorite bedtime story. I literally put it on every night before I go to sleep. I previously left a comment that said at a certain mark there looked like there was a spirit in the scene and after viewing so many times I realized it was smoke🤦🏻♀️😂. Anyway very thankful for this work and everyone involved in its making🙏❤

Don't be fooled the only true message of rastafarianism that actually has nothing to do with the man to Tafari makonnen, is anti-colonialism. But as it is it is the worship of Haile Selassie but actually originally it was the worship of Leonard Howell. So as one who had his eyes opened by the one and only son of God the Messiah yeshua from Nazareth I can tell you that what rastas are known for has nothing to do with Ethiopia and it has everything to do with Leonard Howell.❤ And actually most importantly has nothing to do with the former emperor of Ethiopia. The ghetto people are still swindled by preachers of this cult that has no basis in Christianity but more so its roots are the promotion of selling marijuana for profit and the propagation of the lie that the man Haile Selassie dubbed power of the Trinity was Jesus reincarnated. Fullstop

The music playing at the very start is called Mbira Music and its Played mainly in Zimbabwe where it originates as the music/genre takes its name from the very same instrument that usually single handedly blankets the entire song n Riddim. ..barry hinslewood ? Lol , u can add any kind of beat on top of mbira ,even hip hop n those that don't know mbira won't even notice coz they don't kno it but anyone from Zimbabwe will tell u Mbira is mainly played as the spiritual music linking us the living beings and our ancestors to our God,Musikavanhu(the creator) mostly the players of the instrument have very strong natural dreadlocks that can be very thick even as big as a palm of a hand

Rasta's who don't eat meat do it for personal choice, it is not in the bible. The bible gives clear guidelines on meat and pork. The Nazarite vow of dreadlocks is in Number 6:5 yeah says no alcohol
