Saw the band dozens of times in the 90s… But this set is one of their best of all time. Wish they would re-record when we parted the way that they did this live.

Thank you for uploading the video. Very high quality and, in adition, I can see my daughter "conducting" the orchestra all the time 😂 Hopefully more videos from that perspective.

Nice to see Rick McCollumin this... it’s a shame he’s not currently with Curley and Dulli.

Saw them back when at Pukkelpop (Zitpop) where they unfortunately had to deal with 2 power shortages, during one a seemingly stoned Evan Dando jacked the stage to do his bit part of drumming, which was rather amusing. The Whigs, obliged by the clock, only managed to play a few songs, but unlike so many of the other acts that day, I did nor forget their show.

Im not trying to be a hater but Steve Earle killed this song, I don't really care for their current drummer. Just my opinion.

I love Moon Maan! Unfortunately they played almost exclusively in Minnesota, as far as I can tell. I keep hoping that a bootleg of one of their live performances will turn up, but no luck so far.
@POPINCORPORATED12 жыл бұрын
Rick McCollum started + continues to create music under the moniker MoonMaan. It's brilliant; you can clearly hear where so much of that wonderfully angst-ridden Whigs guitar tone comes from. <3

Ah, OK. I know he was once in a band called MoonMaan. They had some good tunes... "Light of the Moon", among them. I guess Steve is really into the moon n' stuff :/
@mrjutha7 жыл бұрын
joeyheadset why moon in english and maan in dutch? It's man in both languages, so...? It's wife in english and wijf in dutch and wuvve in West-Vlaams. In that dialect it's de moane, zie schijnt widder zo skone en fel ten es lank ni mis bah nent vint.

Nope. Moonbow. Look up "Moonbowrocks" on FaceBook (Can't post links here). If you scroll down you'll see pics of some of the players. My buddy Dave McElfresh (from Hank III) on fiddle, and Steve Earle in some of the pictures and also listed in the "About" link. I'm 99% this is the Afghan Whig's Steve Earle because Davey was telling me how cool it was to get to play with him.

Rosser with the solid, repeated rhythm pattern on this version tune.
