This is not C Lydian, which would come from the key of G Major. You would need an F#. This progression has C Major, A Minor, F Major, and G Major making it a I vi IV V progression in the key of C Major.

Thanks for Your comment! It may not be really accurate in terms of music theory, but I personally love how C Lydian sounds over this backing track. The F# note creates certain atmosphere, which makes this one sound more “christmassy”

@illusionbackingtracks exactly, that's the crux, dorian vs harmonic. The natural sixth B sounds ok in places, and Bb is better in others, but C# leading tone clashes with everything, it should be C, a backdoor resolution. So Aeolian or Dorian, not Harmonic or Melodic.

@@LoLoBits I’ve worked as an arranger, transcriber and copyist for pro outfits including arranging for bigger bands and orchestras. It’s really not just being picky. The A is not being sharpened, it’s a B being flattened. We are not altering the A, the A sits there unmolested waiting to be played - or as you put it, already in it as the 5th - we are altering a B in line with the D minor tonality. This is what instantly tells a player the harmonic area they are working in. Yes most players will play it right if they see A#, pros see worse inaccuracies than that all the time, but it doesn’t help anyone and you might as well get it right.
