People commenting her conversion, forgot that it was norm back then. Yes, the special marriage act existed back then but it was not seen as a norm to marry using that, for whatever reasons. In other words, it was more easier to be married if one of the spouse covert. I am justifying her actions of conversion. You shouldn't covert to marry someone but that what's the norm was. Similarly, even Dharmendra and Hema Malini coverted, even though for different reasons. Today, it is a norm/common to marry outside your religion using the special marriage act without conversion.
