I have a 2011 silverado LTZ . . Still have the original paint on the rockers . Undercoat mine spring and fall . Sometimes 3 times a year. There is literally 1/2 inch of oil under the entire truck. Even inside the rear fenders.

It's all great. I use the handmade recipe. A box of Gulf wax with Linseed oil and 2 stoke oil. Let it melt and be careful. Add various amounts of paint thinner after it cools and stir. Don't blow yourself UP. Crisco works and any connection from a fast food resturant throwing out their Fry oil is a help.

Is it actual steel? If a car or a truck rear ended this truck will the steel hold or will it cave in? Also the front bumper if the owner hits a car in the front will it do damage to the other car or will it cave in?

That's the high beam switch. Or button, or pedal, or the dimmer, or the Hi-Lo, or lots of other things. Same place it was on obs Ford trucks until like the mid eighties.

and there is an art to starting an old ride with a starting pedal. heel on accelerator and toe on starter pedal. this allows you to pump the accelerator with the heel of your foot while tip of foot steadily pressed down on starter pedal. grew up in 70’s poor so my only vehicles were old trucks, which i now have an eternal passion for, a love affair with rides from the 30’s, 40’s and early 50’s.

That's an easy one. It's the dimmer switch for your headlights. Many, many cars of various makes and models had them there. Same with floor vent doors down there, starter switches, and radio switches. Also push in and pull out choke and throttle knobs and push buttons for the transmisioon the dashboard.

Just about every single domestic make had the high beam switch in that location up to about the mid 80s, so yea, you have to be really young to not know what it is.
