You may like it, lady, but I love it; I was a DC10 pilot for 7 years and it was a love affair that never ended and that last until today. Of course I met other ladies, narrow and wide bodies, 2, 3 and even 4 engines but the only one that fills my heart is the 10, my DC-10. The noise those engines made was so special. Thumbs up for McDonnell-Douglas!

Are you for real? That plane was an accident looking for somewhere to occur. Remember Sioux City, they made a film about it (1,000 Heroes), how Al Haynes & his crew put that one down without a total loss of life was flying par excellence. The same cannot be said of the Turk Hava Yollari DC-10 that crashed into the Foret d'Ermenonville outside Paris, shortly after takeoff from Paris CDG after the rear cargo door failed in flight, one of the worst aviation creations ever IMO. Just my two cent's worth.

@@DanknDerpyGamer Hi there, if you're responding from the USA, here in Canterbury (UK) it's five past eight am. You don't need to be an aviation buff to know the DC-10 wasn't exactly the perfect aeronautical creation, it had a few flaws, notably that rear cargo door, and when the No. 2 (tail-mounted) engine blew up in flight it affected the lateral controls of the aircraft that crash-landed at Sioux City. Here in UK at the time, they even had to coax passengers to board flights by one airline operating holiday flights to the Mediterranean using the DC-10, its reputation went that far ahead of it, or so it seemed. Me personally, I'm a Boeing fan, and always will be, my favourite is the 777 either the 200 or 300 series, what a record that plane has, I've flown the world on that beauty, from Australia back to UK then to North America, great flying characteristics allied to the brute force of the two gigantic Rolls-Royce Trents, named after rivers because as some UK-based pseudo aircraft engineer once said, Rolls-Royce engines NEVER stop running!! the dc 10 had just had bad luck bad mainteanance from airlines ruined its image in reality it is a safe airplane as the 1011 and airbus a 300 , the dc 10 is the first airplane to have the GE CF6 that serve on the 747-400

I was in first class section and was invited into the flight deck. My hobby is to view the flight deck of as many models as possible. Never was able to visit a 747.

I flew in an Air Zaire DC10 Brussels to Kinshasa 40 years ago and then on to Johannesburg on a UTA DC10 a day later. It wasn’t that long after the Turkish flight went down. It was my first time on a wide body jet and I was very excited!

I miss all the trijets, they did not deserve the fate they got. I think that they are the best ones because they don't look the same as every other aircraft like the 737, 757, 767, 777, 787, A300, A310, A320, A330, A350, and so forth
