You are wrong on far too many points to be claiming on KZbin that you know how to play it. For example on the 3 draw 4 draw 5 blow part, theer are tongue blocking chords that you fail to play

Not true. If you listen to Magic dick play it, he is tongue blocking this section. ts2b 3b tb2/3b. Slow down the original recording to 50% and learn it from there.

not being critical or nothing but isn't the original tune in open g (spanish) capo 2 or 3 with a very strong foot tap as a metronome throughout. in the slower recording bill doesn't flash around so much as in his faster tempo recording renditions. and so his technique is easier to figure if your in the spanish tuning. good old bill", don't you just love him? so with a little bit of listening by your average guitarist, it should i guess be possible, to gather everything. in a basic form from just listening, and the foot tap is the key into it as it allows you play the 1st, 2nd and 3rd string riffs that punctuate his field singing vocal. with hard practise, for some, hours for others, it will slip into place as muscle memory. then you can fart about with trying to be clever and find thumb syncopation if that is your want .but that comes with practise, lots and lots of practise. but that's a secret so keep it quiet and don't let on. so anyhow plugging into a crunch amp with a piezo equipped acoustic guitar is a strange, indeed an odd combination, to try get an authentic broonzy...close miking sound and why no vocal as the guitar is only an accompaniment to bill's voice and not the other way round , like a pal mumbling agreement to the lyric , so you can't have one without the other and that's the beauty of big bill's music he's the band, it's just him and his guitar and a bit of foot tapping. though this is not a bad lesson by any means by kevin to be honest so i give a big thumb up though he isn't showing me anything i don't already know. but you can't take anything for granted as you never stop learning and incorporating new ideas things are always evolving you never know what you might learn or where. and big bill was always looking to make a statement with his musical genius and nothing was set in concrete and seems always open to inspiration from each emotion as and when they occur a fine example to us all who travel this road. PS. does that make any sense...

I really dig that muted pedal-tone D driving the song along while some really beautiful melodic stuff punctuates. Feels like a great soundtrack by which to walk alone down a country road in the summer at dusk.

Sorry pal, but you're not even close to the song..... way off.. I would suggest watching Adam Gussow's video. It's the only really accurate of this song. Good luck.

Gussow is great, but his version isn’t close either. He rarely uses tongue block and is missing the pronounced chugging element as a result. Branson Bailey is the only one that has done this song justice ala Magic dick style. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHK2m2WLetyVbK8
