Roy, thanks for your comment. I’ve stayed at the Lanesborough more times than I can remember and in practically every room and suite category. It was a king sized bed.

Thanks Jonathan for this lovely video, we just got back from One&Only Reethi Rah, and are planning to go back next year.Everybody is so hospitable,service is world class and it is really private for couples and families.

We stayed here in 2012 before the renovations. It was fantastic then. A real rustic old world type property but with modern facilities. Our room had a huge balcony overlooking the valley. The restaurant was brilliant. We revisited again last year and had dinner again. Wonderful, although the property is nothing like what it used to be. Very modern now but still has those amazing views. Will happily visit again if possible. Great review of the room.

Thanks for your comment. That’s an easy one: Coworth Park. By a clear mile. They’re not even in the same league really. Better rooms, better food, better service.

Isn't a one category upgrade sometimes just a better appointed room? It doesn't have to include the opera, I've had the same conversation.

Thanks for your comment. The word ‘category’ is a well established term in the hotel industry. You are quite right that a better appointed room, such as one with a sea view or runway view, could be considered a ‘category’ in and of itself. However, no such rooms exist at Sofitel T5 and there are no additional categories between a Prestige and Opera Suite. I take your point and it is entirely valid however in this circumstance that was not the case. The hotel simply did not apply any type of upgrade (something which they confirmed at check-in) on this occasion despite one being available. It hasn’t stopped us from returning to this hotel on numerous occasions since however.

Did you have a sunset view in the premier water villa? Or should i choose the villas on the other side (301-312)

We were sunset side but didn’t quite have a sunset view. If you look at how the sunset villas (which face the sunset directly) are in comparison to the premier water villas then you will get a sense of how misaligned they were to the sunset. It was still a great view though and you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you very much! I somewhat feel relieved after watching your video on 45 Park Lane, because I plan to visit London in April, and couldn't decide which hotel to stay. I spent about a week to figure out that Waldorf Hilton London is not... what I expect it should be. The only thing it attracts me is that Waldorf is close to Covent Garden and I could find two vegetarian restaurants nearby. But I have a concert to go at Royal Albert Hall, which is a little far away from Waldorf. (BTW, have you ever stayed at Waldorf Hilton London? I tried Waldorf Astoria Beijing, and can't help comparing the one in Beijing with the one in London.) After watching your video, I started searching restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and found Whole Food supermarket just two stations away, and a restaurant that also has vegetarian meal, so 45 Park Lane so far is my top choice. The price is a little higher than I expected but hey, it's London! Need to wait for another week and see if they got special offers. ( pray in my heart: MIGHTY MIGHTY please!!!) I also search Lanesborough and Langham, but couldn't quite remember which one is haunted??? which one was previously a hospital??? so I'll just pass by. Again, thank you!

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I stayed at Waldorf Hilton London many years ago. It wasn’t great if I’m honest but then it’s not really a luxury hotel. I love 45PL but The Lanesborough would be my top choice for London (you’ll find the prices a bit more reasonable too) and it’s where I stay the most when there on business. The Lanesborough has what is easily London’s best spa and it comes with my highest recommendation. There’s a few room tours of various room categories at The Lanesborough on my channel. I think you would find the food at Celeste better for your dietary requirements too. Any questions please let me know and I’ll do my best to help.
