Hello, you can export the hexmaps as *.png files which can be used in foundry or any other VTT. You can also export the character avatars to use as tokens and such.

Are you able to add custom oracles yet? I'm using a hack version of Ironsworn (elementsworn) and I'd love to have the oracles in the app. Edit: I think I found it. Was kind of difficult at first.

Cool feature! A little bit "video gamey" to my taste, but great!
@theaugur328527 күн бұрын
Indeed, it's off by default for that very reason. It's good for some playthrougs or at certain points of your adventure but probably not for the whole game. Guess it depends on the type of game you are playing. 😂

I like that I can build my own system with this, if I say want to play D&D or something. Question that came to mind, can you create a random space map, like you did with the fantasy map? Is that a feature that could be implemented if no? Other suggestions - Co-Op: Allowing someone else to connect some how (minor) - allowing in custom oracles. - allowing Cards, so someone can use GMA cards too. Thanks!

Hey I was thinking of grabbing this but in the current era a little hesitant as Im worried about the art. I was wondering if theres any artists you've hired you could point me to?
@theaugur32852 ай бұрын
Hello, you can check the credits section at augurVTT.com. Some assets are licensed from artist (like the amazing hexmap tilesets, dungeon maps & some icons) and some I made/generated myself with photoshop and AI tools.

Awesome features! I have a question, is it possible to create more than one map for one planet?
@theaugur32852 ай бұрын
Hello, you can add maps to maps so to say. You right click on any map (hexmap or image map) and you can add a new location.. these locations are maps onto themselves. And you can have as many locations on a map as you want. If you want to expand a planet you could right click, then select new location and from there select hexmap (assuming you want to use a hexmap) and that way you can access this new map from the planets main map.

I feel like once this gets more features and improvements over time, this just might replace Foundry VTT for me personally for when I play Ironsworn or Starforged. Though the multiplayer feature is something I would love to have.
@theaugur32852 ай бұрын
Hello! I really wanted to make something special for Solo and Ironsworn/Starforged specially. I've been a bit hesitant to try multiplayer since I feel it could be too much work as a solo dev, but its certainly possible that I might try it in the future!

I have been getting into Ironsworn and found the augur through the Ironsworn discord. It was an instant buy for me as you have implemented so many creative ways to organize game flow. I really liked your hexcrawl feature that you included and wanted to ask if you had any plans to implement a similar way for players to design their own dungeon maps. The augur seems like it would be a great way to play some of the dungeon crawl games like notequest and four against dark if it had this feature. Anyways, thanks again for such a great tool!
@theaugur32853 ай бұрын
@@nickerson3437 I am glad you found the program worthwhile. I had thought of some sort of tile based dungeon system and I have done a few experiments I don't have immediate plans to implement it but it is possible I will in the future. I will checkout notequest, I have heard about it but I have not read the book yet.

Hello, I want to translate all the default assets into my language. Is there a way to do this, or should I create a copy of all of them in my language? Regards!

This is exactly what I was looking for> There was times where what was rolled for people or cities was hard to work with or didn't feel like it belonged. There was no oracle to decide things if I didn't like what was rolled the first time. Now this gives me a lot more freedom to work with. I know my comment last video probably wasn't the reason why this changed but with all sincerity thank you and I hope the Augur continues to grow and prosper.
@jockejamten4 ай бұрын
When I create a custom ruleset and make a roll for advantage or disadvantage, after the first roll with either of these two I can´t go back to just roll one dice. Otherwise it´s a great app.

I've been playing Starforged for a few months now, and was watching the Bad Spot before that. This seems to support a lot more tactical (grid-based) combat/exploration, while by default I always have played "theater of the mind". I wonder, do you actually play it more tactically? If so, how do you think it compares to the more abstract "theater of the mind" style (does the system seem to support this)?
@theaugur32856 ай бұрын
Hello, quite the opposite. I myself play mostly theater of the mind as well, I tend to play from the "overland" map.. or the star system map in this case. Basically I do move my player/ship token on the largest map (the system map in this case) but when it comes to combat I play it entirely in my mind and write it down in the journal. I do not move ships/characters around the map while fighting. I find that having all these visual tools in the program really helps get in the narrative, not to mention not having to write so much down as the program generates and stores things like new NPCs, planets, dungeons and such. For dungeon delving I do tend to move my character token from room to room, but I still do the combat theater of the mind, I don't use the grids and maps turn by turn as I fight. Basically I use the entire visual aspect of the program as an aid to my imagination while I play, it helps me come up with stories and ideas and keep track of it all.

I love the Augur I really do but I am facing one problem and it is with the oracle. I cant seem to find where to interact with it beyond the yes or no oracle. We have the tables list in the quick menu but I don't get the questions I want like with characters like disposition and troubles. In older videos you have an oracle page with selections for character, village or dungeon. Is there a anything I can do to make the oracles easier to interact with? I have been using iron journal for oracle use but besides that one hiccup I have been loving the Augur so far with my first campaign. Even if these may seem negative I really am loving it. Please keep up the good work.

Is there a way to save a bestiary? The user made foe icon remains, but every time I remove the foe from the map, I have to import the ruleset again to put it back later. Unless I'm missing how to do it, it would be great to be able to save a user bestiary that kept the attributes and skills that didn't have to be individually imported before putting the foe on the map.

Has Watabou given you permission to use his generators in a commercial product?
@theaugur32858 ай бұрын
I am not using his generators, I am using the map images generated with them (Important distinction), the Augur uses a fixed pool of pre-generated maps for settlements and dungeons... this is different for Hexmaps (the subject of this video) where I made the procedural generator that results in the arrangement of the hexes. You can read watabaou's licensing terms regarding generated maps/images at the bottom of all their generators on itch. I am also a Patreon supporter of Watabou.

Wow. So you could use the journal functionality for things like basic rules, cheatsheets on combat, etc... as well it looks like. Very cool!

Im interested in playing a turn based 4x space-game like Masters of Orion/Stellaris, only on tabletop does The Augur support that potential? Or is this program really only for 1-6 people party RPGs?
@theaugur32858 ай бұрын
Hi, if these are games you can play on your own then the Augur might work as its a tool for solo roleplaying and not for playing with others. Now, I have not played those games as tabletops (I have played the computer games), so I dont really now exactly what you would need to play... The Augur has a dedicated dice roller if you would use that and the planet/ship procedural generator can help you to create locations and content for your game.. however it is geared for roleplaying so things are more on the scale of individual characters and ships and not so much on grand scale like it is for stellaris. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask them here!
