How do u get rust in your gas tank,your solution is like putting a band aid on a cut ,the rust will come back so just replace the tank.
@Gordons-Cycle-Parts2 күн бұрын
@bigronnie1419 It's proving to not come back with my experience. We have tanks here that's been treated years ago and still rust free on bikes in use and on the shelf. Works for us. It's many other methods out there. Good luck

You should had removed the right side of the frame, and push back the engine a bit, then you have easy access to everything...no need to removw the swing arm etc. for this job. Now you know. Greetings from México

You need to do something to keep the tank from flash rusting again though. Not necessarily seal it, but at least coat the inside with WD-40, or I’ve seen someone take a cup of gasoline mixed with two table spoons oil and swish it around inside to coat all that raw metal the vinegar exposed.
@Gordons-Cycle-PartsАй бұрын
@raysechyder1348 the baking soda prevents it from flash rusting.
@raysechyder1348Ай бұрын
@@Gordons-Cycle-Parts you’re right! I was thinking more along the lines of future rusting, but wrote flash rust. Baking soda should neutralize the acid, but all that freshly exposed metal re-rust over time without some kind of treatment or keeping the tank full 24/7
@Gordons-Cycle-PartsАй бұрын
@raysechyder1348 my experience with countless tanks, some that are years treated still in the shop, no fuel, with fuel no rust. Just my experience.
