Thank you! This boss I have struggled all day on. Had to swap out my Legendary gear for some epics with the tight stuff for a Mele. It works - thanks. Still this boss fight I enjoyed the most as it was one vs one from the get go.

It's baffling to me that once you finish everything this game has to offer, you can't unlock every skill in 1 tree. You need 37 points to unlock everything in one tree, but there's skills in each tree where you need a certain number of skills in the other trees. So to get every skill in red you have to have 5 in green and 5 in blue so you need 47 skill points total. I finished everything in the game and only had 44. It looks like you have 45. I'm pretty sure there wasn't even new game plus when the game came out so you have to go around fighting enemies for a few hours just to get one tree maxed out. You unlock skills way too slow. You need 111 to have every skill and end up with around 45. You should have at least 60 to 70 once you do everything, especially bc there's enemies that basically require certain color weapons. In late game, not having skills in a certain tree to have more damage makes killing those enemies a pain. Also, everything in this game is based on the 3 colors. You have 3 weapon slots for each color, 3 totem slots for each color but for some reason they only give you 2 ring slots. It makes no sense. And why is there only a bracer slot? That's pretty much the only way to get armor and you have 1 slot instead of having pants and hands and feet and an actual armor slot. They could have did better with all the gear too. Besides the bosses, the only way to get better stuff is to go out of your way to find golden chest. Enemies don't drop anything. I like the game but they definitely could have done better with a lot of aspects.

beats me, I was quite surprised in the beginning, and have to bang my head around to figure out why they are not just mapped to buttons. That's the first time I know dpad directions are not actual buttons. If you tear the pad apart, they are actual contacts layout similar to the face buttons(circle/cross/triangle/square), but for whatever reason dpads in unreal engine is axis.

@@PenguinTD I think I figured it out, though WHY they did it like this is still very confusing. Since "up" is 0 and "up-left" is 1.0 (or 360 degrees), it makes a theoretical extra wedge of 45 degrees between "up-left" and "up." If you multiply the dpad axis values by 315 (360 minus 45), they make a lot more sense visually. "Down" becomes 180. "Right" becomes 90 and so on. "Up-left" is 315 And neutral is 360.

Is there any way to make Rawinput detect a newly plugged in device? It seems that both the editor and the packaged game requires you to restart before a new device is registered.

Yeah, I think that's one of the limitation as it doesn't seems to have a on the fly bind/unbind for raw input devices. It might be doable through modifying the C++ side but it's best to sign up as sony partner and get the actual SDK.

maybe from the DLC patch, you can probably still get this with the Vahalla DLC? as it's randomly generated blocks.

@@PenguinTD forgot to mention, it still works!!! I did it shortly after making my comment. First I went to where the troll was located and then I killed off a few purple orbs. After that, I went back to the tree and swung it, then to the shop and upgraded an item, then I restarted game and respawned to where I fought those purple orbs and then I ran back to the tree and it had respawned, giving me the final labor. I was thrilled to say the least. It still works bro 😎 my apologies!!!

if you have the melee break shield skill you should be able to break it. The only shield that skill can't break is Sandrakk's triarch shields.

well that was disappointing the final end game boss was easier than those mini boss's, did it starting with minimum HP ... , makes me feel like spending a few hours on the mini boss's was not worth it , now wish I did back track through the game more not even half done , not even sure how collecting anythings worthwhile after main story completed

man I have almost done this soo many times with 190 Health get past the 2x large guys then he insta kills me with rockets spam .... guess I should look for more Legendary gear , whats letting you reactivate that shattered shield so fast ?

I ended up just using health regenerating Green Weapons walking backwards around the bottom ring and got a few lucky breaks when NPC stopped moving and got to hammer into them without anything in my way

So told you f@cked up/side down. The only thing I never done is start a new game & do only story without gather anything from campaign before the end of game * I finished immortal difficulty 1rst time & Grand Magnus second time, so for 5 chests no trophy & one shroudfame again no trophy =All no platinum. There are 4 shatter fanes and this should be the last one, you need to beat 2 other shatter fanes(you can see them on map) so all 3 lamps will lit then you can do this boss fight.

@@Tacker_TK if you already have digital deluxe version, then it should unlock when you visit the forge for the first time. I assume if you bought a upgrade during your play it should be the same just go visit a forge, or go to the lordfell gate forge(which is the first forge after tutorial finished.)

Not working with Dualsense Edge sadly.. I set the correct VID and PID and every while when I try again it just doesn't work. I believe it worked on my old PS4 controller though

It's entirely possible that they changed axis number when they did a new firmware or new model thus the cheat sheet won't work exactly. I don't have a Edge so I can't verify. What you can do is making a dummy input an then hook up to a test pawn like I did, and just prints out values with different axis every time.

@@PenguinTD I tried all axis and even added "AnyKey" Input Event to level bp for quick testing, and nothing happened. Also what I tried today was to at least make it work through DS4Windows (PS4 Controller not Xbox, if I put Xbox it surely works, but that's not the point, I just want players to plug n play), it kinda did but with full of issues, tried almost all axis numbers and when it works it works in a weird way where the player moves on his own, i tried to change all possible values in the editor such as inverted/gamepad stick on-off/ all modifiers with different values. I don't know why this all happens when it should be plug and play, Epic Games should take a look into that. We solo game developers do not have the skills to make a device to work from scratch, or should I say it's not an easy task.

Nightstorm helped me with killing those bosses who regenerate theirs as well as others health. This will just stop regenerating in 3-4 hots max.

@@tristan980 did you see all 3 lamp lights up?? If you are on PC I would suggest back up your save files before you try following fixes. on console see if you can stop cloud save syncing. 1. try load a earlier saved point. 2. try progress the story a bit if you still have story to do. (will generate new save points) 3. change to a different zone and back.(this will generate 2 new save points. ) 4. if you did the shatter fanes in Epilogue, you can try hit the "restart chapter", but this will make you redo everything after you defeat final boss. good luck.

Just so people know that above is my like first NG Grand Magnus difficulty run and trying to beat the six in ASAP order of their fanes get unlocked. (so not skipping and get back to them with all the legendary sigils and gears). I've beat this boss a couple times more after this recording both NG and NG+ and it is much easier if you can remove the archons first. If you are good with perfect shielding, you can perfect shield both the sphere zapper and the torrents. You can also use the green sphere to zap the archons.

yeah, I've beat this guy another couple times later with more green focus build and it's much easier if you get rid of the Archon first. (either by using the boss's zap sphere near the archons or you just delete them faster since these archons gets stun pretty easily. ) I also did this in ASAP order so that means I don't have access to the better green sigils like Nightstorm or The Gale. If you have a better cheese then record a NG Grand Magnus diff video and show everyone. :)

Yeah, this was my first run with Grand Magnus difficulty, not NG+. After I finished this run I did NG+ and tried other builds and approach, it's much much easier with a green build as well. If anything, dealing the Archons when they spawn will make the run much easier if you can get rid of them efficiently. Lucretius actually can only spawn limited amount of Archons to fight for him.

yeah, Nightstorm is the top ranking DPS and auto homing. If you combine the 40% damage increase with control spell it's very OP if you can switch control spell well against most elite/boss enemies. (basically you need to disrupt/shred their armor/shield/regen spell so your limpet can stick, you aim a tiny bit above their head so it can also crit when homing down.) Some of my best clear time for the six or big boss type(leylodon, Howler) are using Nightstorm.

Out of interest - have you checked that does this work in UI also? Widgets have "On Analog Event Changed" function, and at least for me - this reveals that Axis inputs don't read for UI. Can you give it a go, and see what you get?

Unreal's input is base on consumption, so if your UI for some reason have lower priority than another thing that can consume the same input the UI won't get the input. 1:12:34 this is what I came to the video for. I couldn’t believe the reward was basically a small amount of xp… made no sense. I jumped up to an area a bit north of this… just north of the zip line you took to the greater leylodon… jumped up the wall at Same point in game you were at here and did a puzzle with a laser and got a legendary green sigil that did big damage. It wrecked the greater leylodon in like 1-1.5 min.

It was easier for me to do the perfect block during the first half, and raise my shield just before he stomps, so it never breaks. Then just keep collecting and shooting the mana beams until he is dead on the second part.

I know, but that feels a bit boring. XD It's a bad habit I pick up from my melee and bash run, if the damage don't have some quick follow ups, I usually let it break as let it break restore health as well.

...why is everyone skipping the green chest as soon as you go into the crownsgate area under the honey hut. I can't find the crystal for it and it's annoying no one else even talks about it

@@MrOnoshi if you can go up there you need to remember the limpet can homing a bit, so when you aim your shot you can aim slightly above the opened chest door. but since that's a tiny gap and you might hit the poles, you need to aim proper. What I do is I usually shoot 1~2 limpet to where I aim, then quickly shoot the switch to account for the flight time. It's annoy but that's just developer messing with you. Compare to other one that have the "attach" hit box delayed by a lot, those are even more annoying than this. :)

pretty much, but when he shoots torrent(the swarm missiles) it's actually better to do the perfect block by cancel and raise shield the moment you see the missile shoots out. (there is a special sound cue for that. That way you can pretty much tank all missiles and not breaking shield. I wasn't doing good here and NG+ he will spam more torrent toward the end of his health bar.

I have been playing this game all week and have watched a couple of your videos using the melee/bash build and damn its a lot of fun. Took a minute to get into it but using blastwave with my chain is really good, love pulling the mobs into the blast then melee whats left. Thanks for posting.

well, I don't know which part you stuck, but yeah, Enhanced Input is a new input workflow so that hump will exist. It also doesn't help as DualSense support natively requires that platform sdk from sony. I honestly don't know why they can't just get it as a regular directx input controller when you hook the controller wired/bluetooth, at least that's how windows sees it. My guess is that they probably want to avoid having conflict once you do start compiling and testing against platform sdk. anyway, if you stuck somewhere when following the video let me know.(also cross check the example project I provided.)

@@PenguinTD So I originally started with part 16 and 17 of a Souls Tutorial from someone name Reality2Games. He was using a ps4 controller in his video and I was switching to axis of the ps5 controller for myself. I follow most of yours minus using the DPad All IA. Using the select, I can't get accurate values because when I use the dpad, only specifc inputs will print a value. I surely will check out yor project next because I just can't seem to figure out what the error is

@@zeltparker yeah, that make sense cause the dpad was mapped from something like 0~1.xxxx so if you bind something to it directly, only one out of 8 direction will have value over 1 thus activate the event. Just download my example project(really small) and open with a copy if you are on UE5.3 then check how the dpad is setup. :)

@@PenguinTD So as far as I can tell, I have literally everything matching to your project now, but my UpLeft does not output a value. Double checked eveything from the raw output, all input actions, default imc, to everything I could think. I tried taking the triggered pin and switching it to started on all direction inputs but that caused only DPad Up to work so I switched it back. Any clue what I should look at for this? Thanks for your help btw

@@zeltparker If I remember properly there is a change that disallow input value over 1 for range. I will copy past here and description. I think that's what's blocking you since you are trying to match my results. NOTE: somewhere during 5.2 update, the DeadZone modifier no longer allows UpperThreshold to have value over 1.0. Any existing one will still last but new one created won't allow it. It is recommended to update the DPadAxis modifier to just divide 1.143 instead before output the value. I am making a video for full dpad action support and will link it here.

haha, looking back at this I still haven't quite get the perfect block on the green dome zapper. I later become much better at that with NG+ runs at Grand Magnus difficulty. You can pretty much deploy shield right when the green dome fully expanded and the perfect block should block the zap in time. (you can use it for healing purpose as well if you just let your shield gets destroyed with the healing shield skill->blink to restore 25%->deploy shield again. ) But yeah, once you know how to reset shield and how the skills work together the game is much more manageable even if you handicap yourself.(like me doing only melee and bash.)

hahaha~ glad you liked it. I eventually beat her fair and square during a NG+ at Grand Magnus difficulty, it's actually pretty doable without cheese when you are almost maxed out skill tree wise and geared to mow her down quickly.
