Love your pieces! Question on the vase with magma on the bottom and Norse blue, blue rutile, and blue midnight on top. Are the combination of blues a runner and the magma acted as a barrier to slow the movement? Thanks!
@OldSargePottery-Music26 күн бұрын
Thank you. Yes, that is exactly what I set out to do with that combination. I also like to use Temoku, Oatmeal, Amber Quartz and Winter Wood for the bottom as well.

One possible reason for split rims, I noice your bases are reasonably thick and your rims are somewhat thinner, so when you turn the bases the pressure you are putting on the rims is promoting the split which doesn’t reveal itself until the glaze firing. Nice pieces and love the combinations

@OldSargePottery-Music5 ай бұрын
Good morning to you as well. Yes it sure is and one of the first things that I checked before using. Here is what is written about the glaze: Description. Inspired by classic tomato red reduction glazes, Ancient Copper is an iridescent, iron red glaze that breaks dark brown over texture and pools dark yellow green, giving it a weathered appearance. Lead Free - Food Safe. Thanks for watching my videos.

Palladium can only be used on one side of the clay only. if you glazed the under side of your wax ring, that might have caused the bubbling.
@OldSargePottery-Music5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I only put the palladium on the top side. I did put a different glaze on the bottom.

try the palladium again maybe on a tile... glaze one side only.... but to proof, you could glaze HALF of the reverse side of the tile. @@OldSargePottery-Music

Thank you, I am going to make a video on glazing after my next bisque fire. I use a damp microfiber cloth to clean the bottom of my pots. So far the only ones that run have been with flux glazes. It was my fault for painting to far down or putting to many coats on.
