Love your videos and the message is so heartfelt! This is the third one I have watched and always get a sense of how much you care about your horses and your clients. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Seminar March 23-25 in AZ :)

EMDR Trauma Therapy - Phoenix Arizona. What is EMDR? As an EMDR Therapist for over 13 years, I get that question a lot. Here is a brief introduction to EMDR.

Hi Dave - Yes - thanks so much for your comment. Funny enough - I happened to have conducted a presentation for EMDR Canada a few years ago on that very link between between dissociation and soul loss. Truly - thank you for visiting my You Tube channel ;)

Hi Sarah, You maybe aware that disassociation can be akin to what shamans call soul loss, or the loss of essential energy, or life force, for which soul retrieval, or the recovery of lost soul fragments, can often be very helpful and healing. Shamanism has been traced back more than 40,000 years, making it the most ancient spiritual practice on the planet. Love, Dave, UK.

Racarter: I'm glad that you found the video helpful. I find that many of my clients also like the counting objects grounding skill; it gets the left brain activated during times when it is needed most! Thanks for the feedback; take care! - SJ

Hey i'm studying counselling, so it's always good to hear people on youtube land :D I was learning these skills only a few weeks back, these skills use all the gestalt therapy which I find extremely useful. I like Perls too :) Much love from Australia

I have BPD and PTSD and this really helped me thanks so much, I didn't even know to talk to my therapist about dissociation or grounding until this vid and I REALLY needed it. Good to see a youtube vid actually helping people rather than amuse or offend them.

About time! Just kidding lol, :-) .I hope its possible. My therapist says i can " be who i want to be" , when ive finished recovering memories etc. Thats might sound exciting to some, but it sounds scarey to me.

Cheeckyleopard: I put a reply to your post ages ago, but I didn't save it correctly. Sorry 'bout that! I think that folks who have trauma can "evolve" from dissociation. I do have folks who have been able to "find" their truest self, underneath of the dissociation. They have been able to find parts with their highest good in mind, even if it is unconscious. That part is key to the evolution from dissociation. Hope that hopes answer your questions!

I am so glad that you are putting this out here for people. I can't believe the local library has nothing on this despite being in one of the biggest cities in North America. I've been asking for six years.

Or if they process all of the trauma, do they become the person they was before they was abused in an emotional sense, but with the intellect of someone the age they are at present??? Sorry for rambling on, just found you video very intresting ! Obviously!

Ive used the ice grounding skill. Another gd one is an elastic band on each wrist. People who were traumatised in adulthood have had a chance to develop an idendity, but people abused as kids didnt get that chance. Is the most a recovering survivor can hope for a person they invent themselves, from parts of others they like? Ive read tonnes of b0oks on dissociation and abuse and have yet to get any kind of answer on that!! If someone has spent there whole life dissociating, thats who they are!

Gd video. Amazing what can happen to someones past without without them realising it. Ive been severly dissociated myself, and im still trying to piece myself together. I must of re-invented myself about a thousand times throughout my life! How many people do you think who have been severely dissocaited and traumatised do you think become fully whole and one again after therapy etc? Is that possible? Esp someone who was abused as a child who has never had a chance to find themselves?
