You saved me the cost of an upgrade. Thanks. Even if my desktop computer could handle this apparently the laptop I take on landscape photo trips with Intel graphics will not. Very deceptive of them. They should not be misleading their valuable customers. There are so many improvements that could be easily made to their program instead of these so called improvements. Your KZbin convinced me to save my money. Thanks

Totally agree with most comments. We have to buy a subscription for more ower to run this? I have way more than minimum power..this is crap! I completely agree with Larry as I could not have stated it any better... "I have to say I’m quite disappointed, and I feel that you’re not being entirely transparent. Comparing Stability AI to SmugMug is misleading. On one hand, you're promoting Generative AI as a built-in feature of the product, which is a reasonable expectation for a photo editing tool. However, you failed to mention a critical detail: this feature is completely unusable unless you have an NVIDIA or AMD GPU with at least 4GB of RAM-something you did not disclose in your video. I own a modern laptop with an Intel GPU, but unfortunately, I can't access the feature I paid for unless I subscribe to your hybrid solution. This was not communicated clearly, which has left me feeling frustrated. Moving forward, I will seriously reconsider my relationship with ON1. In Australia, this kind of omission could be considered misleading and deceptive conduct, and I believe more transparency is necessary to maintain trust with your customers." However I own a very powerful mac pro and cannot do simple AI with on1 photoraw 2025 wich is horrible. You should disclose this before anyone purchases it!!

Great tuto. On duck pictures, i am adding same long black rectangle than you at bottom of photo with the name if the duck. Box is not constrained to photo edges and we see a small gap left, right and bottom so i needed to make the text box extending outside photo in 3 directions. Is it normal ? How can we have same box height on all photos? No ruler, no guide !!! Is there a way to fade black background edge a little bit because edge too sharp ?

Thank you Scott! excellent as usual! I have a dumb question in regards to color, though not related to this filter. I know there is a sky swap filter, but you know how sometimes you get an unwanted variation in sky color probably related to brightness and this will be even greater when using a polarizer with the sky not all 90% to the sun. It can be not so pleasing. I am wondering if there is a simple method of fixing that short of swapping out the sky. Sorry for asking an OT question. Haven't found info on this sort of fix.
@ScottDavenport8 күн бұрын
No "simple method" I can think of... this is a case where the lighting of the sky doesn't match the base photo. Choosing a replacement sky that reasonably matches the base photo is quite important. The Sky AI tools give you some control, but (as you've pointed out) they can only go so far. You *might* try local adjustments to the sky to nudge color... maybe Match Color using the base image as the reference... haven't tried that myself.

Hi Scott! I have always enjoyed your videos. Thank you! A question...I plan to purchase a Samsung tablet soon and was hoping to use it while traveling/camping to get a "head start" on my edits while away from home. Do you know if it is possible to open, edit, and save Nikon nef files using the On1 Mobile app, then copy or move the edited nef file from the tablet to my desktop PC for further editing and printing? I would like to eliminate the "cloud" transfer and just copy my edited work when I get back to my desktop. I experimented using my S22 phone. I was able to open a raw (dng file from phone camera) file and make some edits. When I tried to navigate to the files on the phone, I did not see any sidecar files to move. Are these hidden? Any idea if what I would like to do is possible? Thanks

Scott, I have a question regarding cataloged folders. Once you have created a catalog folder at the roots of your photos directory, when you move or add other new folders or files you have ingested from the camera does the cataloged folder automatically add the new files or folders to the catalog?

Adding a subfolder to an already-cataloged folder should automatically catalog the new subfolder.

I have ON1 Photoraw 2024 on both my laptop for when I travel and my primary desktop on which I do my raw post-processing. On the laptop I have created in the Browse module templates/presets(?) for naming my raw images as I import them from the camera as well as template for metadata such as copyright info, etc. to apply to the raw files on import. Is there a way to move those over to the desktop computer (both Mac) so I don't have to re-invent the wheel on the desktop Mac? Thank you in advance.

This update is a complete waste of money That generative AI doesn't work properly. You delete something and you aither get a blur or something else appears that has nothing to do with the photo.

Thanks for this general view! I have ON1 2025 and I bought credits from Stability AI because my graphic card is not good enough to run these generative options from my computer . Generative Expand works but when I try on Generative Eraser, my computer freezes completely and I have to shut it manually. I asked help from ON1 and they sent me a lot of comments about general problems that happened in the last years. They told me to check with Windows and Stability AI because they told that they don't really know how these systems work.

Thanks! Purely intuitively, I mastered this tool myself in ON1. It seems to me that there are not enough opportunities for correcting geometry for such an excellent editor. What is shown here saves only in very simple cases. There is clearly not enough ability to edit individual areas of the image. As, for example, it is implemented in DxO. Or do I not know such features in ON1, but they are there?
@ScottDavenport24 күн бұрын
Not truly an option for selectively correcting perspective. You could wrestle with push/pinch/etc and maybe some layers work... but heavy lifting.

Currently working my way through your excellent series on ON1 filters. It's just the way that ON1 has developed but there is a fair amount of duplication on the ON1 filters, particularly the colour ones. This isn't a criticism of the software but it does mean that you really do need to know the functionality of each filter well. Enjoying the series and thanks for putting it together.
@ScottDavenport26 күн бұрын
Glad you're enjoying the series. And as some older filters age, they may be less useful than newer counterparts. However, they need to stay in the software or our old presets break! :)

@@ScottDavenport I am more into landscape and travel photography with a little street photography as a by product of the latter. I have used or dabbled with most editing applications but for a one stop shop ON1 is difficult to beat IMO particularly if you don't want to go down the subscription rabbit hole. Just so long as the program works well on my PC and doesn't have too many bugs/issues then I'm happy.

Does this still work with ON! PhotoRaw 2025 and Affinity Photo 2? I have been using Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. So those are well integrated for round tripping. I am looking to stop using Lightroom and Photoshop and use ON1 has my main program. Can you explain the destructive nature--not sure of what I would be losing the ability to do? Thanks.
@ScottDavenport26 күн бұрын
It should… as for destructive, once your image leaves ON1, the edits done to that point are “baked” so you can’t readjust them.

Hi Scott. Thanks again for your excellent videos on various topics. Generative AI for removing and adding surfaces is a fairly new phenomenon, but will inevitably evolve further. Nice to see it also comes in ON1 Photo RAW, which I've been using for many years now and enjoy so much. I tested both removal and addition locally and via Stability. The result was better with Stability, but I wasn't completely satisfied with any of the options. "Dust removal" also doesn't seem to work in WIN 11 at the moment. As AI is increasingly used in photo editing softwares today, I ask myself the question: What level of GPU is needed today and tomorrow? Do you Scott, or anyone else have an opinion on that? I myself have a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU 8Gb, which I've been quite happy with, but now I'm starting to think about something much sharper. For example. GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super or even sharper. It would be interesting to hear what you think about this. It's not about cheap GPUs, after all.
@ScottDavenport27 күн бұрын
I’m a Mac user, so GPUs are somewhat limited. When I got my last Mac (about 5 years ago) I got the best GPU I could afford (biasing toward VRAM over GHz). It is working well with AI in a lot of apps…. Though I’m sure I’d benefit from newer tech (wouldn’t we all)
