The original files look so blurry in 4k. Makes you realize just how poor the TV version was back then

I still have mine. It's kept between 2 other classics: " To Kill a Mockingbird " and " The Catcher in the Rye ". It was a must-read back then ( not bad now either ).

This was NOT unused. This teaser was shown at the theater I worked at in Spring of 1990, and I still have it in my possession. So to speak.

I was going to say that the effects in the official "remaster" were bad when they came out and get worse and worse with time, and that your effects are night-and-day better at preserving the look and feel of the original (including the film quality) while still composing meaningfully new visuals. But then I noticed that this video was published in 2009 and I'm shocked! Genuinely shocked that something this good was made at the amateur level back in the 2000s. This is really impressive work even in 2024! CBS should've hired you to do the remaster.

Shortly after this first aired, my mother bought an old piece of driftwood that bore an uncanny resemblance to the planet killer. It remained in the living room for years and scared me constantly. I couldn't even look at it. It's remarkable how some of this stuff remains with you.

The Constellation was actually the 18 inch AMT model kit with a little blowtorch damage. I reproduced it myself at home. The making of books let that little kitty out of the bag.

There’s an episode of a fan based show here on KZbin that concludes this episode. A very old William Windom appears as Matt Decker. I won’t spoil it for you, find it you’ll like it.

I am glad you did not give the Constellation the overdone amount of damage that the CBS remastering version did. Decker said in the episode that he thought the Constellation had attacked the Planet Killer from "too far away." Plus the fact that the vessel still had it's internal atmosphere. So the damage shown in the original I have always felt was really just the right amount given those aspects of the episode. The overly excessive amount of damage to both the primary hull and secondary hull in the remastered version just makes it very, very hard to believe that she could still have had any internal atmosphere left. So I wish you could have done the CBS remastering. Or at least have had a big hand in it. But I love your version allot and that you decided as you say to "keep it in the style of the original!"

I always loved the "absolutely last second" beam ups like in "Obsession" and "Bread and Circuses". As a elementary school kid, I was just constantly amazed how they always somehow came out alive when I thought there was only certain death.
