This car is a 1976 Buick Electra Limited. It is not a Park Avenue. I own (3) 1976 Buick Electras. (2) Limiteds and (1) Park Avenue. If you want to see the difference, simply type 1976 Buick Park Avenue in the search bar on KZbin. You have a very beautiful 76 Limited! If this were a Park Avenue it would have Park Avenue script in the rear quarter windows as well as under the clock. It would also have a completely different interior with a ultra plush pillow top interior desinged by the furniture company Flexsteel. Lastly, Park Avenue cars had a specific "halo" vinyl top which this car does not.

Absolutely gorgeous. I am so glad to have grown up in this era to be able to own and drive these bosses of the boulevards back in the day. Oh, how I miss traditional American luxury cars. This particular example is so beautiful that it really needs its proper wheel covers. Those gross, aftermarket wires need to go.
@GalaxieMarauder15 күн бұрын
@@MarkWG with respect to the wheels it all depends on taste. I like the 100 Spoke and 150 spoke Player wheel 15-18". It really brings out the chrome or stainless side trim. Some.of the OEM wheels dont accentuate the size of the body or just look dated(for example, I think the magnesium alloy turbine wheel Ford used in the 70s and 80s has outlived its usefulness. It is attractive but dated. I also grew up with these cars. My cousins grandfather brought home a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 door hardtop chocolate brown when I was at her house for a birthday party. That car made me a Lincoln Mercury man. When I brought my first car I looked for something similar...and came home with a 1983 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Brougham walnut brown leather.

Gorgeous Mark IV! Here's how you can tell a 1975 from a very late model 1975 or 1976: In the 1976 there are only two power window controls in the drivers door. They did away with the B pillar windows that pull into the side. 1972-1975 had that. I've seen late model run 1975 also not have those power windows.

@@viciouspoodle5543 ill look for those cues. I never held much regard for the Mark 4. The Mark 3 Was a beautiful and the Mark 5 was a break. I like the 3 and the 6 the best. The interim years I prefer the Torino Cougar XR7 and the rebodied Torino Tbird

@lordapophis743822 күн бұрын
@GalaxieMarauder well what are the mechanical differences?
@GalaxieMarauder21 күн бұрын
@lordapophis7438 mechanically the car came with the same 455ci V8 and th400 transmission. The differences between the Electra 225, Limited and Park Avenue are all cosmetic and somewhere in the pricing. As you can see this car does not say Electra anywhere so I initially thought it was a Park Avenue but other viewerd said a Park Avenue would say so in the 6th window glass. I dont see the economic feasibility of offering 3 premium hardtop sedans in 1976 from ONE marque. I understand from the whole company as 5 separate but similar models but 3 from Buick? Odd
@lordapophis743821 күн бұрын
@GalaxieMarauder indeed, it was almost like they were begging for failure. They were not the only ones, Mercedes and BMW are guilty of doing the same.
@GalaxieMarauder21 күн бұрын
@lordapophis7438 you ll have to explain to me that because the BMWs differ in engine, like the 740, 745, and 750i but otherwise these cars arent that much better than the Buick Electra. Mercedes differ as well because each upgrade is a strategically better car, the S500, S600 and Maybach increase in dynamic ostentation. Audis would have an A8, an A8 L, and then a superpowered S8. Of course Im comparing 2009 era European fullsize sedans with a primitive 1976 Buick. So its hard to do... If one has a place to park this car and is forgiving of its atrocious fuel economy 1970s cars were really great and beautiful
