It is January of 2025. All the way back in 1981 I purchased a 1954 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. My dad had to help me pay for it. She was 27 years old when I got her. Today she's 71 years old and I still have her. I was 16 years old.. not many people can say they still have their first car. She's not an automobile she's a part of me and the part of my family. Does she know that? Yes I do believe so. My car is yellow exterior with white leather interior. It did not come with power windows or locks or air conditioning. I would drive it anywhere and not be afraid to take it anywhere. Maintenance is the key. I've had her in my life longer than my wife. My wife tells me that from time to time. She is the standard of the world. Cadillac

I could be wrong but I'm 98% sure that there was NO Gucci edition in the bustleback Sevilles. The only one i know of is the 1979 Cadillac Seville Gucci edition. Whoever owns that car did a very very impressive interpretation of it because they have the Gucci material in the door panels and throughout the interior. It's a very high end modification that looks factory.
@GalaxieMarauder4 күн бұрын
@@klwthe3rd no it really doesn't look factory it looks like somebody did it in a coachbuilder, aftermarket limousine builder or something
@klwthe3rd4 күн бұрын
@@GalaxieMarauder I have to agree with you that alot of the addons look tacky. I like the vinyl roof and the seat/door panel inserts in the Gucci material. But all the emblems that were pastered all over the exterior is way too much. Sometimes less is more.
@GalaxieMarauder4 күн бұрын
@klwthe3rd me and a tube of Gorilla glue some GG Gucci emblems and Ill go crazy! Thats the problem. On Lincoln the Bill Blass was a conservative styling edition as was the Emilio Pucci. Gucci just came across loud and unrefined, trying to hard. Used to be a brand of candy made in New York called Brach's they smelled so wonderful but they tried too hard to compete with The Mars Brothers and Hershey Foods. But you could never forget the Brachs smell.

You were correct when you said, "these cars are very different from the X body Nova's". What alot of people don't know is that the chassis is stretched from the X body to accomidate more leg room. When they realized during development that the rear passengers were too cramped, they stretched the body to make it larger and renamed the chassis the K body. Not to be confused with the Chrysler K cars. Lol. 90% of the parts on the 1st generation Seville do NOT interchange with the Chevy Nova.
@GalaxieMarauder4 күн бұрын
The only bonafide X body component that can be shared are the trunk lid hinges and counterweights under the package tray(the rear speakers post). But otherwise if you follow the interior it is a parts bin car from Cadillac and Olds. Alot of C body components on these. I d like a 1st or 2nd gen even a 3rd gen has potential if you like highway driving
@klwthe3rd4 күн бұрын
@@GalaxieMarauder I've owned a 3rd gen Seville and loved it immensely. Silver exterior with burgandy red leather interior. But as anyone will tell you: the 1st gens are the most revered and desirable. I hope to own one in the future.

@ I think the 1977 is the best bet. I prefer the 1976 myself for the many one off touches that first year model has but the 1977 is the sweet spot in the lineup. In 1978, they added alot of items that cause quite a few headaches like the rear load leveling suspension that you don't have to worry about in the 1977 model.

But it's NOT a HARDTOP. It's a VINYL top.
@GalaxieMarauder5 күн бұрын
Hardtop doesnt mean exposed top. It means no supporting full length B pillar and framed window doors. The weight of the roof and its upside down collision protection is bore on the A pillar and C pillar. This is why hardtops weighed more than sedans with the b pillar post.

Thanks for sharing. "Under the tent" they are all original or very nice stock updates. All II's had 13" wheels, base, Ghia, Mach I, Cobra, all of them... 13" wheels. The Mach I was the performance model. V6 was its base motor plus a handling package. "Cobra" was a sticker package only. It could be had with an na 2.3l 4 auto. King Cobra was a '78 model only is the only II that its base engine was the SBF. The only thing "Pinto" that is a problem is the anemic wheel wells. Very easy stuff to upgrade. These cars are mostly representing original stock quite nicely.
