GUWAHATI: The Assam government has announced a ban on the YBY FUND/TRADING mobile application. This measure follows growing concerns over the legality and potential risks associated with the app's usage within the state. ALSO READ: Guwahati Traffic Police Lists Roads To Avoid In Event Of Heavy Rain Authorities have observed a significant increase in the use of the YBY FUND/TRADING app, which, despite its seemingly legal status, has been identified as potentially violating state regulations and posing risks to users' financial safety. In light of these concerns, the government has mandated a complete prohibition on the operation and use of the application in Assam. Effective immediately, all individuals, organisations, and entities are required to cease using the YBY app and uninstall it from their devices by August 15. This directive is issued under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code concerning Cybercrime and Cyber Security, specifically referencing IPC section 379 from the year 1888. Non-compliance with this directive could result in severe consequences, including fines of up to ₹2,00,000 or imprisonment for up to three years.
