I think you could have a group of bad guys from the past of Ace Attorney maybe Phoenix's old foes (Kristoph, pearls mother, maybe Matt Engarde) plan together to destroy Phoenix and his legacy. Phoenix goes missing or is hospitalized after an attack leaving only Athena and Apollo and maybe Maya and Trucy helping to end what is going on with targets being hunted being old people we assisted before. It would be sad to lose that many old faces but it would really show how much of a grudge the three had

I don't think Phoenix should ever die he is the main protag of the series but I think you could do a story where he went missing leaving the legal world in turmoil and leaving it up to Apollo and Athena to take up his legacy

The only real problem i have with this case is the killer being revealed at the beginning, otherwise it's a pretty good first attempt for it being the first case they wrote for the series.

The big problem with this case is that there isn't really a whole lot to it, plus we already know who the killer is from the beginning.

Here's what I want. One case where they dive into Phoenix's family-situation. We know everything about Maya, Pearl, Apollo, Edgeworth, Athena, Trucy, and Franziska's family-lives. They're all orphaned. We know nothing about Phoenix's family. I like to think unlike the above, Wright not only has a still-living mom and dad, but comes from a big family "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" style. I think a future-case would be funny if Phoenix takes Trucy to a Wright family-reunion and they get accosted by his numerous family-members. His mom is a stereotypical sitcom Jewish ma. Then a murder happens.

Phoenix dreams be like:

This case recently entered that absolute highest upper echelon of cases with 2-4, 3-5, and G2-5 for me. It is the birth of everything that truly made me obsessed with Ace Attorney in the first place. Issues like the sometimes odd pacing, slightly annoying investigations, whatever, don't matter at all to me because they're so hugely overshadowed by how incredibly strong the core story about Phoenix, Larry, and Edgeworth is. I don't need or want the plot to be super intricate or heady with all these connecting elements, all that matters is the strength of the emotion, and this case lands emotion harder than even 3-5. This game did an "overarching plot" better than any AA game after it for that reason. All the elements in the story that are established earlier and paid off in this case are emotional, not just plot based. Every emotional beat in this case just lands so fucking hard and leaves you in tears by the end. Manfred is also ridiculously underrated as an easy top 3 villain. You don't need a tragic backstory to be a compelling villain. Manfred really is just perfect.
