My man, you are wrong. Blending fruit allows all the fructose/glucose to hit your system all at the same time, spiking blood sugar levels and insulin production. Insulin's primary role is to convert sugars to fat storage. This affects readily available energy, body fat %, and drops your metabolism. Your burn rate decreases and your fat storage increases. You are wrong pal. Insulin is the single most destructive hormone. You said Eddie Abbew is against calorie counting and in effect actually promotes low calorie intake by the foods he suggests but there is a flaw in your assessment because Eddie' foods lists are actually higher in calories than a high carb diet and Eddie does say there are 4 calories per gram of carbohydrate and 8 in fat. There are hordes of people on keto diets and they have defeated diabetes and weight gain and have the lowest incidence of cardiovascular disease despite taking in large amounts of saturated fats. As for artificial sweeteners damaging the gut bacteria that is a fact and you are wrong there again with that probably fake biased study. Ask the scientist Dr William Lee about artificial sweeteners and he says DON'T ever consume them. You might be enjoying your way of eating now but remember it takes decades to wear down the body but when the shit comes it comes like a raging lion. I see it all the time with my own patients they suffer inextricably. Eddie might just be the new world hero.

Fat is an energy management issue. Track calories over 3 weeks along with weight to best dial in calorie maintenance numbers. Avoid eating before bed as it may lead to disruptions in circadian rhythm and will also cause calories to convert to fat at a higher rate due higher levels of Insulin resistance during sleep, some studies suggest. The most widely excepted results of extra muscle to calorie burned is 1 lb to 6 extra calories burned a day. If you factor in extra weight from pure muscle it would be at most 12 calories. This can be significant but it’s not a magic way to loose fat as it takes a long time to build up even one lb of muscle, which you will be doing in a caloric surplus where you will ultimately gain fat in the process. There are thousands of pages more literature on the topic it’s best to consult a professional in the field or do like I did and take a few classes, would recommend to anyone.

It doesn't open the door to disordered eating, it is disordered eating. Anyone who goes on these radically restrictive diets, including vegan, has an eating disorder. The carnivore diet especially because it not only taps into the childish mindset that veggies are bad, it's the primary feature of the diet. And it does so while ignoring all the health problems that will eventually result from long-term carnivore diet devotion. And sorry people, but your own anecdotal evidence it's not convincing at all. These radical elimination diets probably do provide some short-term benefits, because when you limit yourself to just one food, you're probably cutting out one small thing that you were getting too much of. But that doesn't mean that the food you cut out is bad for you in more appropriate and moderate amounts. The whole mindset is ridiculous

If LDL "causes" atherosclerosis please explain why plaque only forms in arteries and not veins?? The same blood with the same LDL is circulating in the veins back to the heart and you will never find atherosclerosis in veins?? If there is a clear reason for this please enlighten me. LDL is not the cause, it is a part of the repair process yes, to repair artery endothelial damage/dysfunction on the high pressure side of the heart, hence plaque never seen in veins, but it is not the root cause. Show me evidence of plaque forming in a perfectly healthy artery with no endothelial dysfunction. The message should not be lower cholesterol at all costs, it should be to eat a low inflammatory diet and live an active lifestyle, don't smoke, avoid alcohol among other things to help prevent endothelial damage in the first place, then the plaque process will not begin in the first place. LDL is too important to be lowering it, our body makes it for a reason. Why can't the mainstream medical establishments see this when it only takes some logical thinking, please take the blinkers off and look at the big picture.

1.) I’ve discussed this in detail previously re: arterial vs venous circulation, see here - instagram.com/reel/C61Rj-yIEij/?igsh=MWMwNDNtdDFlczNwbQ== 2.) There is indeed plenty of evidence demonstrating an increase in ASCVD based on LDL / ApoB in otherwise healthy individuals without other risk factors. Start with Fernandez-Friera et al. JACC. 2017 Dec, 70 (24) 2979-2991. 3.) This is a strawman. Nobody suggested lowering LDL at all costs. In fact, lifestyle is the first port of call for prevention of ASCVD, but medical management is very helpful too. Are you aware of any cardiovascular guidelines that don’t suggest healthy eating, exercise, smoking cessation etc. as being very important for both primary & secondary prevention? - Gary

@@TriageMethod So why are we not concentrating more on educating people on health and lifestyle instead of hammering on about this diet-heart hypothesis which has never been proven categorically. What would you suggest to an individual who is already eating well, not smoking, not drinking alcohol, fit and lean, but presenting with an LDL-C of 400mg/dL and concordant elevation in ApoB? Perhaps “significantly reduce the risk of” would be better. Help me out if I’ve got it wrong.

I agree with all that. The intent of that comment was that the fact that heart disease is the number one cause IS PREVENTABLE. Dr Berg is unreliable on medical & nutrition issues. Butter tends to lead to an increase in LDL-C & ApoB, so that’s patently false. As for dietary cholesterol, the relationship varies, as some individuals (~20-30%) are hyperabsorbers and display a greater response, whereas this is small in most. However, this is not to say there is no relation, this is false. - Gary
