Has anyone concluded which is more effective? Front or harness mounted reserve?

It took a few times to realize the loop is on the trailing side, not the leading one!

Thank you for this! I don't plan on making one, but it really helped me to understand how the machine is forming stitches. I'm a hand knitter of 40+ years and just started on a machine, due to loss of use of my hand. Even though I understand knitting intimately, I was still not quite getting what exactly the machine was doing, until I watched this. It helps me think through how to fix problems and how to do creative approaches to things. So, again, thank you!

I was just thinking along the lines of @airnNomads comment. It seems like Gemma's "tunnel" type deployment bag could still stop a reserve from opening even if the bag is open, whilst an "envelope" type deployment bag, if it get's opened, there seems to be no way for the reserve to stay in it. Is that true? If yes, why is anyone manufacturing "tunnel" type reserve bags? Another question I have: Some people seem to close the deployment bag with the end of the lines closest/close to the harness (pro it seems to me: reserve bag opens at the early phase of the throw, bag opens with higher likelihood) whilst others close the bag with the part of the lines closest/closer to the reserve (pro seems to me: reserve opens further from the pilot, less chance of opening into the main canopy). What are people's thoughts on one versus the other?

Thanks so much for this video. I hoped I would never have to put it into practice, but I had to throw my reserve in Colombia this year. I had practiced the throw as you suggest, and when it was time to do it I didn't have to think about it, the reserve was out and everything went smoothly.

Outside looking in, it seems like the circumference of the carriage is too small, causing too steep of an incline on the needle track for plastic on plastic. This coupled with the added tension created with the yarn seems like is what is causing the bind. Also, circular machines like this usually implement some sort of weight that you connect to what’s being knitted with hooks. Just a thought. Cool ideal either way, hope you get it worked out

Where should we start measuring the line from canopy end? You are measuring from the end of the loops, don't you think it should be measured from the fabric, where the loop is stitched to it?

As a PPG pilot I am constantly thinking about having a flight stick instead of holding toggles. At first, I was thinking about a system of pulleys kind of like the speed bar, but if I pull back on the stick 3 inches I would need the lines to move further than 3 inches.. Then I started thinking about an actuator or a stepper motor and have it fly by wire, which is exactly what you’ve done. It’s remarkable that tiny little servo worked.

Hello Andre, how are you!? Congratulations on your videos, they’re really great! I’m an acrobatic pilot here in Brazil, flying for Sol, a manufacturer based here in Brazil, and I’m passionate about RC models and everything that flies. I loved your RC paraglider! However, I enjoy building my own wings-I built a Goat Sailplane, do you know it? It’s wonderful! Anyway, I would really like to try making an RC paraglider, but I’m having trouble correctly interpreting the line plan that SingleSkin generates-I'm not sure which line is which. Can you help me with that? I couldn’t find anything online explaining this! Thanks a lot!

SOLD !!! THIS LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING WHERE I COULD FULFILL ALL MY DREAMS OF FLIGHT, AND NOT HAVE THE SIZE OF AN AIRPLANE OR PARAMOTOR, OR THE EXPENSE OF THE LICENSES ETC. NOT SO SURE THE DEATH GRIP ON THE GENITAL AREA LOOKS TOO PLEASANT HOWEVER..... BUT HOW MUCH FOR A BEGINNER RIG ???

Excellent. Since the handles move up and down, a mechanical solution with springs and potentiometers, to measure pull displacement, should work as well.

Hi, here from Argentina! Love your videos, I'm learing a lot with them. Could you please make a full review of the Geo7? just how do you feel it in flight and on take offs.. I couldn't find a lot of reviews of the Geo7. I fly a Jomo2 with my couple, so the Geo7 seem to be the perfect match for progressing, but there are so many good wings, and very few Geo7 reviews. Thanks a lot! Good flights!
