Artichokes 1 vs Man 0..that looked frustrating as all hell..i looked this up because this was going to be the answer to me getting the grill off an old microphone of mine that has been stuck for years...i was going to go buy a pair of those cheap strap wrenches...now I'm not so certain. At this point I have no option, I have to try with them. I used to have a crushing grip before arthritus set in...feels like i have no strength in the grip these days.liked and subbed...i'll see what else your up to

You don't have to use literally ANYTHING to open those stubborn jar lids. Pro-tip which teached me my grandma many years ago: get the whole jar in your hands, tilt it by 90 degrees so the lid is facing from you and tap the SIDE of the lid on the table. Do this for whole circumference of the lid (slowly rotate the jar when tapping side of the lid, do it on the edge of table so the jar glass is out of the way). By doing this you are sending little shockwaves which are cracking inner bond between jar and lid, which is made by solidified fluids inside jar over the time. It's especially case with fruit jams or anything which contains higher amount of sugar, because sugar is naturally very glue-y. Tapping should be reasonably strong, but not too strong to deform the lid. If it's really stubborn, you can do few continuous taping/rotating sessions. After that you'll be able to open the lid just by hands easily. Trust me... when you figure it out, it works every single fuc*ing time with any jar/lid. Good luck ;)

I tried using the god awful grip wrench for a long time and couldn’t open the jar. Hot water on lid upside down also not working. My arthritis flared up. Then I tried your tapping around method and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.
