Why are they not straight? I ordered a pair from the website and they are straight on the website but like these ones, they look like the Skye Bridge. How are you meant to carry anything flat on them?

You can easily lose the loose rubber grip inserts /and then you'll have to try to order them on their piss poor website. Good Luck with that.

Wait, the feet don't completely cover the opening? There's no cover or anything that goes around the base of the feet? Just doesn't look finished to me.

that's right. there's a metal plate that covers the hole at the base of the foot, and a rubber seal as well. not sure why cruz posted an incomplete video. anyway the bars look good once installed properly and do the job.

How much pressure do I put on the lever to tighten? Can I overdo it?

Hi there! The instructions state tighten to 5nm, which is firm but still easily done with one hand using the tool provided. It is not necessary to crank them up too tight. Give us a call if you have any questions. Cheers.

@@MrScottglover thanks Scott! Ive got the Cruz steel 140 for my citroen berlingo to transport a 3.5 meter ocean kayak. Just a bit concerned about not cranking m up enough cuz them kayaks catch a lot of wind. Any more tips would be more then welcome! Should i pad them to transport the kayak upside down u reckon?

Hey Glenn, for long ocean kayaks its always necessary to have a non-elastic strap, or rope, come off the bow of the kayak down to a tow point (or similar strong fixed point) on the vehicle. Safest to do this from the very front and very rear point of the kayak. As you say they generate a lot of lift when driving and securing in this way solves any issues with that. Padding them is entirely up to you, but for an ocean kayak we would recommend using a kayak cradle to protect the kayak, stop any possible lateral movement of the kayak and generally make transport safer. Hi there, in the case of a vehicle like this, with factory fixpoints, there is no part of the roof rack system that is in contact with the paintwork. You'll see in the video that the brackets are secured under the fixpoint covers, the paintwork is left untouched. Thanks.
