Steve's songs helped me through a very rough time in my 20s and now I find that now I'm searching those songs and voice again, going through another rough patch. Not only do I just lose myself in his songs, but in his passion for his singing. Hope he and his passion can come together again.

I think to Robert especially, Jason is almost like a son to him, it probably hurts knowing John should still be there. I think Robert is a very good compassionate man, & that’s another reason we love him.

We were told and believed that Boston was a real Band. Turns out it was never a Band but one guy in a Basement who fooled us all. Even the lyrics lied to us about signing the contract in that "This Band is Out of Sight" but it actually was.

If you truly follow journey closely you know d*** well why Steve left the group his voice was going some of the later shows he could barely hit those great notes he was certainly struggling and it was certainly wasn't going to get any better Steve did the right thing bailed out when everyone remembered him as an icon he was smart then he came back when no one had expectations of him being the same great singer you can't be when it's 30 years later he played his cards right if he asked me...

The most incredible thing about Steves' contribution to music, is the respect he wields across so many genres. Whether you listen to hard rock, metal, country, pop, r&b, Anyone worth their-salt will recognize him as a Master of vocal-range and heart. Those of us that grew-up in the "Heydays" of Journey, have all been affected by his gift. Journeys' music will be forever-timeless thanks to him. To steal a line from ABBA, "Thank-You for the Music" Steve.

I love Steve Perry's voice and he was great in Journey. I hated the fact he broke up Journey due to his ego. It was a real shame to have a great band like Journey imploding at the height of it's popularity.

Interesting tidbit about McCartney here. He really loved Bonham and his drumming. Bonham would be backstage at Wings concerts and he played with him a few times. Macca also sent an incredible flower arrangement for his funeral. Massive letters BONHAM, all in flowers. There will never be another John Henry Bonham. RIP

I can't believe he doesn't realize the gift God gave him is not only his phenomenal voice, but his interpretation and delivery of the song...And he WRITES as well. He is blessed and he passes that blessing on to all of us.. Oh how we missed you...but I respect your decision to know you had to leave to save yourself and that you would not be giving the fans 100% like you had always given them. Thank God for Kellie.. God placed the two of you in each other's life for a reason. You will be reunited 💖

I am so sorry for your loss I know it was a long time ago I lost someone I love very much and if it wasn’t for my faith I don’t think I would get through it the closer and more vigilant I sought to found Jesus Christ the more I started to be guided as to where our love ones go. All I can tell you is 1000 years on earth is one day in heaven and before she even notices you’re not with her the day will be over and you’ll be with her. Try to think of it that way because there is no time in space in heaven

Thats what makes him a legend, he is NOT self centered! He just wants to have the passion for what he does! I used to be able to sing, lost my voice, one of the worst things that can happen to a singer, and I as well wasn't impressed with my own voice, yet LOVED to sing from my heart! If there was one thing I could ask for it woukd be to get my singing voice back. Love you Steve!!!

I donno if I believe all of the seemingly dismissiveness ? Perhaps skirting around the Death of the Love of his Life, comes from it just being too personal ? Maybe that's just how he chooses to deal with it ? But there's No Shame in a Broken Heart ! ( I just realized that sounds like it could be a Song !) I certainly don't need to sing his accolades, but such a tremendous Voice ! Nuff Said !

Four years after this interview, and I am just now finding it. Amazing interview. I hate that he can't relate to what his music means to Gen Xers (and others) hearing him speak about the ones that touched him. Steve, I hope you never doubt what your music has meant to so many of us. The times, good and bad, it has gotten us thru and the joy it has brought us. I laughed and even teared up a little listening to this.....that's the kind of impact you had on us. Keep on rocking Sir ! ! Very good interview Pete, thank you as well !
