Just looking today at the how the misinformation in the US, matured democracy and economy and how that influenced US voting results it’s troubling to think of how that will look like in the global south, already suffering from so many issues , the need to regulate , is so important. My first political memory was the fall of the berlin wall, i was 10 and watching cartoons on our cable tv, fancy for the time, getting ready to go to bed, when a news break came on and interrupted my show, i sat glued to the TV watching people wave flags and break the wall with hammers, people were jumping up and down with joy....when suddenly a hush fell over the crowd and the camera pans around there's freaking David Hasselhoff on a boom lift in a leather jacket and white pants, everyone went nuts! Next thing you know he's up there singing and dancing to a crowd that must have been at least a million, my parents keep trying to get me to go to bed but i was begging a pleading with them to let me stay up because i was witnessing history in the making, i specifically remember my mom saying "oh, you want remember this"....welp, here i am, almost 50 years later and i clearly remember the hoff singing his guts out while smoke was going off and the crowd screaming like mad. Lol. You were wrong mom! 😅
