This was so helpful! I wanted to start back in 2017 but was overwhelmed trying to learn it on my own but now I don't feel as intimidated!

I really wanna start tablet weaving and this has been an amazing explanation

One big question that has nothing to do with technique... I started learning about tablet weaving in hopes of making tartan weaves. Your intro image is a tartan. Do you have links to charts to do tartans? Also, thank you so much for the very concise and understandable tutorial. I'm a lifelong crochet and cross stitch addict who just discovered tablet weaving.

Thank you. How did you warp your loom? If you could show a video how to as well as putting your colored thread for a v pattern idk I was going to just try a random project to learn this type weaving. 😊

Thank you for explaining this! I could not figure out how it works. I don't think I have what it takes to tablet weave, but it is so fascinating. Thank you so very much.

I LOVE this explanation!! I came across something last night in which I heard my first reference to s-threaded/z-slanted and there was a little blue puff of smoke as my brain exploded. I reread it probably 10 times and couldn't make sense of what the presenter was saying. I watched about 2 minutes of this video and it was crystal clear. And your larger-than-life presentation of the weaving process - without the craft sticks - made perfect sense. I'm SO happy I kept looking for a decent explanation of this part of the process. Thank you SO much!!

I saw a video of someone doing this on instagram and RAN to KZbin to figure out how it worked. I watched a few different ones, but THIS is the only one that actually made any kind of sense to me. Thank you for this!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

The ovals change direction when the turnings change. Thought the slant has to do with S and Z. Surely, the cards don't change from S to Z, or vice versa, as well.

If I am not mistaken The Tablet Weaving Draft Designer allows you to change z-lines into s-lines and vice versa (while designing your pattern you can choose if s and z are going to show the position of the tablet or the thread), and also to change DCBA to ABCD on threading diagrams. So it depends on the pattern's author.
@impendinglooms3 ай бұрын
Thank you for this info. I went to investigate, and yes you are correct. These are both toggles in the control panel that you can change, and at least the DCBA vs. ABCD order is a newer feature according to the site’s instructions. (It seems they had a major re-build in December 2022, I learned the site before then.) So I suppose my video applies to the default program settings. Perhaps an update or a note is in order. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
