omg weirdly enough, i use crushed cheez-its in my meatloaf haha!! my stepmom always made the best and that’s what she used :) i also add a bunch of honey and just a bit of worcestershire in my ketchup sauce, and it makes it so caramelized and delicious on top

It’s been a minute since I created it. 😂 In case I didn’t…the main purpose of discard is to keep you from having too much sourdough at one time. In the beginning if you don’t get rid of it then you’re going to have a much harder time getting your stater to begin. In theory, there are many people I have seen that have used less flour when starting a new starter. I think this would be a better option to keep from wasting flour, however, this is how I learned. When your starter is active though hang on to that discard and use it! I have discard recipes on my blog and I’m always looking for new ones. I hope all that made sense. It really depends on your home. I know that sounds strange, but I’ve found that to be so true. The temperature and environment play a huge role. From experience though, you should see some type of activity around day seven. I hope this helps! I own the classic (going on 7 years). I like it very much. My daughter in law has caught the baking fever, and as a gift to her I bought her the mock mill. Milling is the a step up for sure. Happy baking!
