Mises seemed to randomly insert into his theory the idea that interest should be based on peoples natural preferences and that central bank liquidity is somehow unnatural, but this has nothing to do with the theory. It's in essence a theory of inflation.

Professor, such a nice presentation on the history of thought regarding the complex issue of why suppliers produce and how that production is shared. Simple concepts explaining complex issues.

Wouldn't the problem with the wages have more to do with the activity of unions that prevent the fall in wages (and it's adjustment to fallen prices) and therefore prolong a depression that could, otherwise, be brief ?

Hey Prof. Stelle, I like how you teach and it was very interesting :). I study politics and try to get some economic knowledge XD. I subscribed to your channel and will watch all the other episodes. Could you please, next time, put the names of the papers in the video describtion? Thank you. And I also have a some (many) question. Do you think the SDG17 from the 2030 Agenda could be seen as institutions, like Mr.North meant, that societies(regulators, government, firms and citizens) sould addopt to come closer to a more sustainable world, and how you do that? I mean if you reduce the externalities of one SDG it shrinks the total costs of society, and also raise the total benefit. Have I gotten that wrong? Is there an NEI perspektive on climate change/sustainability? And one more question, can you recomend a book about NIE? Thanks

This type of planning that the Soviet Union was attempting to do is being done by multi billion dollar companies today. Running models on getting demand is being done by most companies. The Soviet Union was trying to do all models of all the companies in 1917 right after leaving feudalism

Thanks for your words on the subject, Dr. Steele. It’s sad to me that there is such mass misunderstanding on what prices actually are, which leads to so many well-meant but economically ridiculous policies. Not to mention that mainstream political thought has not had a serious notion of incentives in its midst since Harding & Coolidge’s response to the recession of the early 20s.

Let's use some common sense and isolate the vulnerable folks (older, sicker, heavier) and let the rest of us work! We want to work!
