I liked the first season, but this second season is getting me worried that Sheridan didn't plan out the series and is 'seeing where it takes him'. Things happen quickly and can get reverted with no real justification. And my least favorite is 'off screen' developments that are presented to the audience via exposition. Like when we learn that apparently Chickie is ruining the New York family. We don't get to see that we're just told. To take one specific example of plot point flip flops. The whole getting his daughter to Tulsa, and near end of Season 2 sending her back? So he's putting her in the same situation she was in when he asked her to move to Tulsa. Worse yet, is that he didn't even call New York to get a temp check on whether it was 'safer' to send her back to New York or keep her with him. Judging by the phone convo with chickie he didn't seem that reassured of her going to New York was any safer. So why? Armand's character feels like he was written during a fever dream. And his arc takes him to places that make no sense. If Dwight is such a smart gangster he would know that keep one of his guys in a bad place for too long would only come back to bite him in the ass. And yet he kept treating him like a lackey as if there was never going to be any consequences. Also, I don't buy for one second that Armand would have been 'stupid enough' to accept money the first time from Tresher. Near the end of the season the show sets the tone back into the gangster/mob thriller. But this second season had a little too many moments like Sheridan wanted to write a comedy "My dad's a mobster, mama mia!". The whole school visit is just a little too silly a clashes with the general tone of the show. Likewise with some characters of the weed shop. They feel like cartoon characters more so than real people with depth.

I just have to correct an inconsistency in your recap. In Naru's defense she did not miss the bear she shot the arrow right into it's neck, You can see it hanging out as it's running towards her. also she is very accurate with the hatchet but needs practice on moving target's but by the time she retrieves it its too late for a follow up shot/throw hence the rope to return the hatchet to her immediately, actually very smart thinking outside the box. im Native American and i was even quite impressed by that idea.
