Your partner is not your therapist but I hear her she seems hurt from her past relationships, everyone uses everyone at first just how things go. I feel like if she was a loving relationship she wouldn't want that anyway because of what she's used too

I've got some comments. I know Amelia through sport and really enjoyed listening to this. Thinking maybe I could give some insight into where maybe some of the difficulties arise when talking about Trans athletes. This was a great conversation and you guys covered some great points and I agree with a lot of it. We don't know how to include trans athletes into sport yet and that's the issue that both sides face. I think a lot of people would agree with your statements here. However, just some thoughts that I know would be controversial: - When you are both discussing the statements in the Daily Mail you're talking about sponsorship and how a trans woman got a spotlight/sponsorship from a big fashion brand. This really isn't a trans 'issue' it's more how brands express themselves and choose who they sponsor. You both shortly discuss how it's based on the popularity of the event and the sport. Highlighting the trans athlete at the forefront of brand marketing will definitely be seen as problematic when the issue might be that athletes are underpaid/brands only do what's best for their own image etc rather than a trans person taking something away. - In terms of other athletes not saying anything I think it's because the issue is completely blown out of proportion for the media. You talk about a culture war and the far right absolutely wants to bring social politics to create a divide. "For the last two decades, anti-LGBTQ+ politicians have attempted to sow disinformation about LGBTQ+ people’s rights to score cheap political points with their base." This fear-based messaging is meant to cause division and hate. That's why you were asked to be a part of the Daily Mail and Piers Morgan - Two of the most destructive, false and terrible news outlets ever created. Daily Mail is a sensationalist tabloid looking to entice reactions and hate with provocative language and misuse of facts. Piers Morgan is an extension of that. If those are the people this debate is attracting then that's why other athletes might stay silent. We're so early on in these discussions that many people don't want their legacy to be trying to fight inclusivity of trans athletes. Why would athletes want that as their legacy when the issue isn't really there? It's like starting the race before the gun - It would be different if there were policies that were widespread and doing the things that the sensationalist news wants you to believe. As you said, there hasn't been any policy in place to allow trans athletes to compete, these discussions were always going to take place. We're not seeing widespread trans women taking spots on teams, winning the world champs, tearing down women's sports - It's just not happening so at the time it was just fighting an idea that didn't exist, brought to the forefront with right-wing media for division politics. The fact that a lot of female competitors didn't speak out speaks more volumes too - They understood it's not an issue that is realistically happening right now across the world. It it was an issue, people would speak. The only example I can think is Lia Thomas in the USA. I think a lot of what you two are saying is valid and an important conversation but the issue is that it’s so so easy for people to slip into transphobic messaging. There just needs to be more education on what’s really going on and how language and media can cause issues!

Elliot, I appreciate you for this whole sentiment and your delivery of providing the above information. The aim for this episode and the podcast in general is not to sensationalise or paint either side of an argument in a particular light; negative or positive, but to capture my guest as a human being and give them space to verbalise their view on the world around them. By the sounds of your conclusion on how we navigated the discussion we managed to do that so thank you👊
