engine startup certainly needs some work as there's quite a difference between that and the idle sounds, but this still sounds nicer than the current default sounds!

Interior sounds need to be slightly quieter it doesn't make sense for it to be that loud in the cab and the exterior sounds just need more bass but otherwise massive improvement over the first test sound.

if you want some tips, for me i found the best way to set up decent sounds was to actually use softwares (such as FMOD) and theres 2 ways of utilising the software, both ways involve setting up the sounds themselves within the program as you can tie areas of the sound to specific variables such as rpm and engine load, allowing you to get an idea of how itll sound without having to constantly edit in omsi, test it then modify it after, its also massively helpful for ensuring the RPM of the sound file matches the rpm the engines at, regarding to recreating the sounds in omsi, its fairly easy to set up the sound curves in fmod then just replicating them in the omsi sound cfg file, the alternative way (which I did for my ALX sound mod though i wouldnt necessarily recommend it) is to loopback record the sounds in fmod through audacity at the specific RPMs though this would only really work well for Mono Audios and just make each of the sound files mix into whatever sounds higher or lower than it in the sound cfg. Another thing to bear in mind is with vehicles, they can sound completely different dependent on where your recording from, including for external audios so its a case of finding where abouts is the best place to record the samples, technically speaking my sound mod isnt actually very accurate for the front as there's too much engine noise though I decided to make it sound like it would at the rear of the vehicle cause thats what most people are familiar with, its also important to constantly refer to refrence material such as videos like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2eWfGRjicmNd6s throught the development of sound design

also make sure to not use the default voith transmission sound cause theyre god awful imo (Sound\Voith_DIWA - (vlow, low, mid, high, vhigh and max)), that was the very first thing i did to the default sounds tbh one more thing actually: dont overcomplicate the sounds (use too many samples for a certain speed) unless your certain its nessecary.

engine sounds alright, a bit too loud in the cab i'd say and doesnt have enough bass. Axle whine is too quiet.

I agree. I did edit the sounds since the previous video to make them a little louder inside the bus. But I think they might be too loud now. Oh well! I’ll trying to work with them until I’m happy with!

One thing i do with a lot of my private sound mods is setting the sound range on the engine downn to just above half what it used to be, then making a copy of all the engine sounds and adding a low pass filter, then playing them with the original sound range of the engine to add the cab and upstairs bass.

Cool WIP, reminds me of TA648 which got the engine from an E400 swapped into it :) Only difference being this having a Voith gearbox whilst TA648 has a ZF.

Yeah, I know what you mean! Stagecoach south have had quite a few tridents with euro 5 upgrades. But I believe they were mainly the 185** batch, rather than the older ones!

It does kind of sounds like an E300. I remember seeing 18185 broken down in Guildford in January this year, was quite unusual for me to see a double-decker being towed, but most of the times I've seen 18185 running quite well. At some point I need to have a ride on a Trident while they are in service(I keep hoping to get on one when going on route 20 to Aldershot, but ending up getting onto E300 or sometimes E400MMC). Anyways, good luck with the development!

Would be perfect with a hanover to recreate the Nu Venture Ex stagecoach london tridents they have running round in kent. Shame they only have 2 left, but i dont imagine they have much time left. LX04 FZJ & LX05 BWA

how do you make mods like this? is there anyway you could make a tutorial of modding buses like how you modded that solo?

It really just comes down to blender knowledge really. Learning blender will definitely help to do things such as this. I would also recommend having a look and playing around with V3D’s blender files that are available from Tecno Servers Discoed server. They helped me out a lot with seeing how things were done etc
