This vid felt like a fair and objective review for this game. I had been considering trying it out because my friends were pretty hyped but... yeah. The snippets of dialogue I stumbled upon on social media did not encourage me at all, not the game for me. Thx!

ALTUS yes they have great releases BUT the DLC is overcharged. So yes they deliver but they have problems as well.

FromSoft is NOT a one trick poney... AC6 was absolutely phenomenal, and I had never played a mech game before, and Sekiro is in my opinion the best game of all time.

This was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Back in the day, they also developed Rayman 2 and Beyond Good & Evil (among other titles), which I also enjoyed. So I have a soft spot for them, and wasn't surprised that Lost Crown turned out as good as it did. It isn't super-enormous in scale as you mentioned, and it definitely has that Montpellier sauce to it, allowing for a much tighter experience. It might be my favorite game this year.

Sorry, but no. Game very quickly becomes tedious garbage. Atlus made a ton of little mistakes here that all add up very quickly. Unbalanced combat/class system. Boring characters & a generic story. Most gear, other than weapons, have almost no effect on stats. Their solution to "challenge" is giving bosses & elite enemies cheap moves that give them 4 extra actions. Again, don't be fooled. Game starts out strong, but very quickly becomes annoying & tedious.

I find the input reading of the AI in the story mode unnecessarily annoying.

Game was absolutely amazing. Favorite metroidvania ever.

release a horrible 1st impression trailer to ruin all the hype. then dont release it on steam. why would anyone touch this game. i feel bad for devs. but then they should have just made a new franchise instead of baiting prince of persia. people were not expecting this after such a long wait.

Played the demo, started liking it, the UI design is fantastic, I like the the art and the anime cutscenes, the story is interesting, the soundtrack is great, but the level design is kinda weak the turn based combat gets super repetitive, so eh. I still liked it enough to get it on a sale somewhere down the line, the turn based combat hopefully probably gets more complex over time too.

Unfortunately I don’t have a next gen console so I probably won’t play it for another 6 months

The game would sell more copies if it had hotter female characters in it, let's be honest. (There are very few female characters and they are ALL unattractive). Missed opportunity (probably due to woke ideology or one of those consulting firms like #sweetbabyinc ). Still absolutely loved the game, it's a masterpiece.

I saw plenty of ads for the game. They cared about the game until everyone called it woke. Go take a look at the like to dislike ratio on any of the trailers. Scroll through some of the comments. People hated it because they think its inclusive, and they're generally hateful people.

I'm almost finished the demo and wow, I'm seriously impressed. I don't usually like turn based games. I finished my first Final Fantasy game last week, FFXV, which isn't turn based. So Metaphor seriously broke a barrier for me. The combat is soooooo slick. The music, story, and art is top notch. Everything is buttery smooth and runs perfect on Steam Deck. I almost NEVER pay full price for a game but I'm seriously considering breaking that rule... or try to work on my backlog. We'll see!

Concord was design to fail. The amount of money spent on concord was $400 million dollar. The goal of these projects is to launder that $400 million into paying themselves, and get a tax cut. 400 million is not use to make game of year awards. They probably spend less than 200k on that game in the last 8 years with cheap labor and talentless hacks that reuse asset or stole asset. Remember the goal is to create a failing project so they can make up for it with better games that will net them close to billions and they repeat the cycle once again. However there is one loop hoop for us gamers to get back at them. It is to stop buying anything under the name "DEI". You see they only push back when their money is being affected, and they hope people will forget as they create better games to make up for their losses, but I will never forget and I will never forgive. Gamers need to remember that corporations are not your friends. They are your master and you can choose to be free from the shackles of the corporation.

I think the truth is it's a pretty good game. Solid 7/10 at least. Visuals are great except for the narrow fov. Sound effects are great. The combat is a mixed bag, it is fluid and feels good but everything boils down to executions which i do not like since it breaks the flow of combat. I dont like the hp/armor system since you only regenerate armor and have to find hp packs for hp, so just forget about hp and maintain that armor. They should have made hp regen slowly. Also I would have liked to seen a longer campaign with integrated progression and customization like in multiplayer, it seems so much potential was lost because they wanted to focus on multiplayer. Imagine instead a 40 hour campaign where you get complete control over your squad of space marines with full customization of weapons, tactics, etc. The necrons should have awakened, more imperial forces like titans could come to the planet, terminator armor for the boys, etc. So much potential, instead they choose what 6 coop missions and some lame ass battle pass system?

As a person who started with platformers and never stopped loving them Astro's Playroom was a charming little freebie on the PS5. So I was very excited for a more fleshed out experience with Astro Bot and have not been disappointed.

I dont really know what combos youre talkin about. Could you elaborate on that? And youre not forced into these secret areas, further exploration is just rewarded with an easier time in general. I t feels rewarding. These items are in no way needed to beat these bosses, they just give you an edge. The free respec feature as a complaint is just nonsense. All of your complaints feel like they werent worth making a video on to be honest.

I agree with most of this! The combat is fun, but falls short of a 9 or 10/10 experience for me. For example, too many recovery frames on most of your core abilities makes combat feel unresponsive at times. You should absolutely be able to dodge cancel at any point during a light attack string. The visual style and fidelity is excellent, however the performance issues are very noticeable with some chapters stutteringly heavily on ps5. Build and play style variety is certainly there, and the ability to respec at will was an amazing decision. However, the rigid upgrade system for legendary+ gear highly discourages experimenting. This is unfortunate as that’s when builds really start to get interesting. Elden Ring’s bell bearings solved this issue, and really elevated the game from great to outstanding. Being able to farm or even buy golden thread and tree cores should have been a no brainer. At the end of the day, this game is an amazing feat for a small and newly minted team. I do believe the next game they make could very well be Fromsoft level. However, it’s not there quite yet. Solid 8 - 8.5/10 for me.

Also an explanation for what you experienced with the controls. The game doesn’t have forgiving input buffering. In short the buttons you press send their controls when you press them instead of “waiting” for the for the previous command to end to accept an input. so you were button mashing. Personally I don’t think this was on purpose but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was as a lot of games do that so button mashing isn’t an effective play style.
