You're welcome, and thank you. I get it. These advent calendars can be pricey at worst and not a great deal at best 🤷♀️ In fact, I am spending most my yarn budget for the year on a few of these calendars so you can see what they include and hopefully this will help you decide if this is worth the expense for yourself. Also, I hope you find the videos entertaining and/or helpful. Have a wonderful holiday 😀 Thanks again!

That’s …. Impressive!!!!! I use to watch my former m-i-l hand sew wedding dresses for vintage dolls to enter into the state fair. Or even a cross stitched image she free-handed!!! The talent to do these things are so lost in today’s digital age and SO under-appreciated as to the amount of time, skill, and talent needed to make these things!! She got many 1st & 2nd place yr after yr! The first placed cross stitch was an 11x20 in. image of their home/yard on a canvas!!! Not cross stitch backing!! If you don’t know…. That means that every stitch is the exact same size, made one ‘x’ at a time, in the exact same way/direction! When they ‘judge’ it they use magnifying glasses , look at every stitch - front & back - to ensure it’s the exact same size, shape,& direction!! Thank you for keeping hand made art alive!! Props for all of this hard work! Every layer, every sequin, down to the last detail!! Great job!!
@essentialcrochetАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind observation. I have to agree. There does seem to be a loss of appreciation for the finer handiwork/fiber arts. I think cheap manufactured approximations and a world full of other exciting distractions are the biggest culprits 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. I loved what you said about the art of cross stitch and the crazy amount of precision, focus, and talent it requires at competitive levels.

Oh this isn't good. I ordered my first packet from Mary Maxim. They don't send everything needed to finish the project? I'm a beginner and am just learning how to crochet. I also was under the impression that the patterns were more for useful items and not decorative stuff. I think I should cancel my subscription!
@essentialcrochet2 ай бұрын
@eabird4358 To be fair, this is an older/vintage kit. However, if you are part of their monthly subscription club, you will find they send you a variety of projects. Everything from home decor, garment, and amigurumi projects. If you only want a specific type of project, you will be better off purchasing your kits individually.

The yarn is very slippery and if your a tight stitcher your beanie will b smaller than expected. So use a bigger hook, I had to use a 10mm hook to make it a bigger size. Did the 1st one with a 5.5mm , the hat size was very small, more like for a 12mo child. I used the pattern from Lion Brand and followed the instructions.

You had the kit in the wrapper for the longest time; while you babbled about other stuff not related to your presentation. You are on to a good start for your channel. Just work on the presentation. Leave out a lot of useless babble. Praying for your growth as a presenter. Don’t forget to enjoy. Extraneous isn’t fun for anyone.

Luckily a KZbinr recently made the bag using the kit and I know I can ask her any questions because I have a feeling trying to get any further instructions from the company will also lead me to a "QR code" type situation as well.
