The Glenglassaugh Sandend is a single malt, not a blend. It's just not age stated. Nice unboxing cheers!

I want to build a whiskey box for a $2000 bottle whiskey as an investment I live in Las Vegas and my house is just 70° sometimes 80s when i leave the house. I was thinking of making all four sides with half inch foam board and making a box out of white oak. That way the bottle doesn’t change temperature quickly. Each side will be roughly about an inch thick between the wood and the foam. And the box was sit on top of a shelf in my spare room. Also will be wrapping the cork with parafilm as you suggested. Any thoughts about that build?

I just picked up a second bottle. Found one in Florida (very hard to find) and had to travel to Louisiana to buy another at cost. May open one and save one. Life is short- drink it

Hi Mark, what is a ballot?
@AlanKennedyaktkpkck114 күн бұрын
A ballot is where you put in an interest for said product, go with this MacAllan space mastery. And register your details, give bank details, address etc & when the ballot comes around & your one of the chosen few that won the ballot, they take funds out your bank & your MacAllan space mastery is on its way to you!. Don’t get picked, they wont take any money. It’s a lottery mate x amount of bottles to sell x amount of people in the ballot … good luck 🤞 That’s a ballot

Would love to see an updated video on this! The marketing for it is crazy good, but not a lot of reviews. It seems like a lot of people bought it so curious about the 5,000 bottle limited or if it’s more like 10k

That bottle would go down well. I love Single malts from Islay (peated and non peated) the Laphroag 10 Cask strength is one of my favourites. People that find it trash must have a trash palette too, or aren't used to good Scotch at all.

I did a distillery tour at Glenfarclas this week (December 2024) and what a fabulous experience. We saw one hogshead of 1953 vintage that had a value in excess of £2,000,000 Staggering.

Whisky market has aways been cyclical. There's been a lot of very over priced whisky around over the last few years, and a lot very ill advised new distilleries. Rule for business: if you see a bandwagon, you're too late. Or, as Warren Buffett puts it: when others are bold, be fearful; when others are fearful, be bold.

Question, I have 2000 to purchase whiskey for my own collection to drink at a later date. Which would you consider storing
@Habe99721 күн бұрын
So also with a view to increasing value?
@michaeljacko571021 күн бұрын
Personal enjoyment/ some increase value. More a collection to enjoy at a later date
@Habe99721 күн бұрын
@@michaeljacko5710It all depends on whether you prefer sherry or the smoky. More cask strength. Here's a selection that should be there from all of them. Glengoyne 21, Bunnahabhain 18, Glendronach 21 Parliament, Dalmore King Alexander III, Glenfarclas 25, Benriach 25 Authenticus. They all cost around 150-220€. Otherwise, if it could be more expensive, I would go with something like Laphroaig 23 1991, Bowmore 27 Vintners Trilogy, Benromach 30 or Glenfiddich 25 rare oak.

The fact caramel coloring is used and allowed in most whiskey today is the biggest scandal and scam going on in the whole industry. They pride themselves on their snobbishness and high prices, even those that claim they don't use colouring, you would never know. Its cheating and its done to create an illusion of consistency in their brand, and allows for the unavoidable inconsistencies they encounter in the actual natural process of maturing whiskey, such as re-using old worn out casks too many times, they would impart little natural colour from the exhausted wood in the barrel, but no doubt save money on getting a new barrels in. Blended whiskies is like blending tea, it allows a consistent-ish product, and the ONE obvious thing we would always notice batch to batch, would be a colour change. So basically the great whiskey makers cheat! Shame on them all, as the natural wood colours are part and parcel of what makes whiskey, its an essential feature and they should not be allowed to cheat. This ridiculous black whiskey not only exaggerated the whole caramel coloring fiasco, but cynically mocks it in its own brazen way and sums up the silly laws that allow it to do so. Commercial wineries are not officially or legally allowed to add artificial colors to their wines, why should whiskey producers be allowed to?

Isnt it much simpler than this? If a distillery has 3000 bottles to sell, then they need to price those bottles low enough to shift all 3000. When it comes to auctions the orice thats achieved onky requires 2 people to value it that high, and therefore the price is naturally higher. At Auction the price is what the top person is willing to pay but the distillery is aiming to selling the bottles at what the 3000th person is willing to pay. Also, if they didnt leave some fat for the investor, then the investor wouldn't get involved.

Nice review and lots of research, but slow down please, and show us the bottles properly, not out of focus quick flash, millisecond glimpses lol. Do you ever check the videos you upload? Your face is always in focus, but the products you are showing us and what we are all predominantly interested in, are all to often not and you just flash them to the camera and that fails to focus, and if it does, you snatch the bottle away in a flash! Anyway another thumbs up and subscribed.

Interesting video thanks, so my Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky, in a 75ml bottle I recently purchased on fb marketplace along with 6 other old bottles for 150 quid from some old guy clearing out his cupboards, could be a 1980 bottle worth over 100 quid according to some websites. So its definitely between 1980 and 1991, but how do i find that out? I see most websites selling this just say from the 1980's. I don't know whether to drink it, store it or sell it now. I have a few others in the old 75ml bottles. Bells 12 year old reserve, that sounds and looks nice in its bell shaped bottle. Though i don't like Bells as a rule am intrigued what this would taste like.

I have zero clue how much things are worth. Here is what I do. Every year I buy The MacCallan 12,18,25 Sherry oak and that's it. I don't flip or sell. I figure I will pass them on to my kids after I'm gone and they can build on it or sell it. I don't really have time to learn all the different in's and outs. I don't even drink. lol I do own a Glenfarclas 30 yr old warehouse edition but that is the only one I have bought that wasn't MacCallan. People ruin the market for everybody. I always loved Hotwheels toy cars. I joined a club with the thought of buying their special release limited once of month offerings. I just enjoyed them. The issue was if you were not logged in right at the time of release you got shut out within 2 minutes of the release . Two hours later they would all be on eBay marked up 25 percent. Ruined the whole thing for people who just wanted to collect and enjoy them. I learned from that not to buy into the so called investment hype of buying anything. I like buying the whiskey and do hope it becomes more valuable but I don't really care. I'll never sell it on my lifetime anyway. To me that is the way to do anything like this. Speculators ruin it for everyone who just wants to collect some cool whiskey.

It’s a MacAllan limited edition No brainer imho Yes probably be in Auctions soon for less than £1100 you paid but hold onto this wee beauty & you’ll make more than the interest £1100 will make in say 5+yrs 👈🏻 Hold onto this one 10-20+yrs & …..? 😉🏴👍🏻 Ps: update December 2024 Is now selling £1450 in auctions

They might as well have just used a plain box and slapped "whisky" label on it. Big departure from the previous editions - it's like they just allowed new lead design diversity hire to call all the shots.
