Looks a great camera and good value used. The Chappel Roan footage was the easter egg I needed in this video 💕

I have at least two EDC's that I carry simultaneously… Canon M5 (has the viewfinder), and Canon M50 with a wide 12mm 7Artisans for street. I carry the M50 around my neck, for what I call: "snap decisions", and the M5 with the M22 lens on it in my side-bag, for what I call: "stop decisions". The M5 has the waist level screen (like the M6) as well as the laggy shutter, and so I only use it for non-moving subjects, like portraits, or environments… The M50 on the otherhand, is waaaay faster, and can be switched on, and ready to fire in milliseconds, hence I use it mainly for street photography. The two cameras compliment each other when used in this way. Canon are stupid, they missed a great opportunity to merge the two when they upgraded the M50, which in some ways, to me, is the better of the two cameras. Strange then since the M5 was supposed to be the flagship. M5 prices used are lower than M50 prices, so that says it all. Never used the M6, but I think I'll probably go for the mk2, if I do decide to try it. Hopefully they've resolved the laggy shutter thing.... Nice upload. Keep on keeping on… ps. I love that UFO lens, despite it's shortcomings...

Don't don't really understand why people are having trouble with the controls you can use it just like any other Z6 body, or you can use it with the retro dials. It really ain't that hard to figure out best of both worlds

bought this camera like year ago inspired by your video:) today i found interesting thing. when i add raws to capture one they are already cropped to the size i see on screen or in jpegs, but in fact raws are slightly larger. this thing is more obvious with 16:9 ratio, after cropping to full image it become more like 17.3:9 or 16:8.3 4:3 and 3:2 doesn’t have much information behind the crop can’t confirm this behaviour in lightroom, but anyways this feature is awesome to me, none of my cameras have that

That is a very interesting camera, sadly canon didnt give a 28mm equivalent on the market, so one could have a whole system with 28-35-50mm

I've lost count how many times I instantly went to look for gear you reviewed 😅 Lately, finally, I come to my senses repeating to myself that I already have the gear I need/want. Currently, I'm playing with LX3 or TZ80 as daily tiny cameras, however, image uality is not on par with camera I'm used to. Apart from E-M1 mk2 which I got for incredible low price, my the most favourite small camera is Lumix Gx80. There are so many great tiny lens! 12-32mm kit zoom, 20mm f1.7, 14mm f2.5, Olympus 45mm f1.8. And if I feel "fancy" 12-35mm f2.8 for bigger footprint but amazing quality. I haven't seen review of GX lineup here (yet) 😅 maybe it will be the next EDC 😄

Just sold my Z6 and Z7 for a deal on a 50s I saw in FB group didnt make it in time, the user sold. SO id figure I would just get a sony a7iii, the 55 zeiss, and the 85, and call it a day. But then I was like :naaaaaah" ive wanted this camera for a long time lets find it...found one on ebay for a decent price and it gets here right before Thanksgiving. So I am hype. I want to say you have a dope channel I like the way you review the cameras you pick up and how you use accessories with your cameras. I never would have thought to use Kamerar on a GFX. Your photographs are awesome and to me I think you have the best review on a GFX 50s camera it was very engaging to hear you speak about your experience and sparked some fire under my choice. Thank you for putting your review up on youtube. i just have one question is there a big difference between focusing in using the Kamerar Viewfinder versus the GFX Viewfinder?

The M50 is also a nice camera, two people I know have them, including my gramps that's been a broadcast engineer for must of his life. His first digital camera used was a 1999 2.7mp D1 borrowed from the studio. It's a capable little camera and they've got awesome sensors in them, you can't go wrong with the image quality. It was enough for him to stop and just use it. When you're 72, you're probably sick of carrying a brick when you're out hiking around.

Pleasant surprise today seeing my little friend the M6 Mk1 getting some love :) Although I mainly use mine with the 22MM and adapted EF lenses from my older 5D Mk2, the 32MM F1.4 is still on my wish-list to get...hopefully sometime in the coming year.

I don't know...There's a VERY limited selection of native EF-M glass, and the separate EVF for the M6 often is expensive and hard to find. I would personally go with the Panasonic GX line of cameras or the Olympus E-M10 line. Lovely compact rangefinder format for the GX and both Panny and Oly have decent built in EVFs, and, most importantly of all, a MASSIVE selection of native m43 glass. The Panasonic GM5 is even more tiny, and the G100 is dirt cheap because it got so maligned. The later GX cameras also make fine 4K b-roll devices. Only real advantage of the Canon cameras is the dual pixel autofocus for video, and slightly larger APS-C sensor. By the way, you should be able to get the mk 1 LX100 for way cheaper than the $500 mentioned. I've gotten it for half that price used with patience. A steal, IMHO! Thanks for the video!

Your review of the EOS 1D was very enlightening. I have several of these Canon cameras and now I will be looking for the 1D. For the time being, I can't get out and shoot like I want to. Sometime this I will be getting my hands on the 1DMKIV. Keep it going on your reviews.

The only cameras I have right now are Canon EOS Ms (M6 and M50), and ever since I started following your content (1-2 years ago?) I've been hoping to see you review one of them, but I assumed they were simply too modern and vanilla for you to care. I liked them a lot, but I simply didn't think of them as "fun" cameras, compared to some of the older and quirkier cameras you've reviewed. And at the same time, they weren't modern enough to have all the bells and whistles of the latest Sony or Canon R. After watching almost all of your reviews, I fell on the gear trap for a bit, obsessing about the perfect camera to buy, and which was supposed to be much cooler than my unremarkable "dead system" Canons. Luckily I got over that phase before spending money I didn't have into a new body, and I really got in tune with the "no bad cameras" philosophy which was the whole point of your gear reviews. Then you started the mystery cam thing on Instagram, and it really got me interested. This was the first time I was really expecting a particular video of yours to drop (usually I just stumble upon them some days or even weeks after you post), and it was so funny to finally discover this misterious camera you were enjoying so much was the same one I used to think of as boring! By now I've already fallen in love with my M6, but it still made me happy to see you enjoy it as well, confirming it is a genuinely good and fun camera on its own right. That being said, I never really invested in native EOS M glass: I only have the kit lens, a fully manual 50mm f1.1 Chinese lens, a vintage Canon FD 24mm f2.8 and an adapted (and gigantic) Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 that kinda defeats the purpose of having such a small body but has served me well for shooting weddings, which is something I do from time to time (so yes, these are perfectly capable machines, apart from being fun EDC/friends and family compact cameras). Funnily enough, just this month I bought the 22mm f2 you loved so much, and got the Sigma 56mm f1.4 as an (early) Christmas gift, but I'm still expecting them in the mail because I live in Argentina. Your review made me even more eager to receive them and start having even more fun with my camera. Thanks for what you do! Your content has really shaped the way I see gear now. I got my first DSLR when I was 13 so I basically grew up shooting, but I never had as much fun as I've been having these past two years after getting a small body with the kit zoom and two manual primes. Greetings from Buenos Aires!

As a personal fun camera the M6 Mark II was the closest to perfection for me. I had to sold it (still regretting it). With the 22mm, 11-22mm (best lens in the system imho) and 55-200mm that was a fantastic setup. Same size as a m4/3 kit but with a bigger sensor and (much) better AF. You can set three separate dial to each part of the exposure triangle and has a dedicated button for back button focus. Noise levels are much better on the M6 II. And btw I never noticed the known shutter shock issue on the M6 II. So one more vote for the M6 II from me :) Love the channel!

The M system may have been discontinued by Canon, but I have no intention of getting rid of my M bodies, M lenses and third party lenses. I own the M, M10, M50 and the three zooms, 22mm, 28mm macro and several 7 Artisans, TT Artisans and Meike lenses. It's a great system and there are plenty of great deals out there. I also shoot many of my EF lenses and also adapt many "vintage" lenses for even more choice of glass. PS: Dear Santa, please can I have the M 32mm.

Interesting to listen to your dad, who comes across as very modest and grateful for his success. Similar story to David Bailey, and east end lad who also got given his chance by John French. As he described, and still similar when I was studying photography back in the 80s in Nottingham, the students on the course were either from affluent uppler middle class families or else skint working class. The 'black hole' he describes getting through, losing his mum... and then his child was born - was that you? - which gave him his motivation back and got grounded by meditation. Sounds like he had his values sorted.

I have an m6 and I was feeling fomo because everyone has a Sony, Fuji, or Ricoh, But my jaw dropped when I saw your secret cam was a M6 and your praises for it helped me appreciate what I already have, it is a really good little camera! Although the shutter is embarrassingly loud 😂

I have gone similar route trying LX100, Coolpix A, Fuji XF10 but finally ended up with a new Ricoh GRIIIx. Some of these system cameras which are bit older (Canon M, M43) finally adds up when you add price of lens etc. and the price to value for the performance sometimes does not make sense. I have bigger cameras but for a daily carry I realized I better just look for good deal on Ricoh.

The sigma 16mm is beautiful and sharp but its size and fact that the lense size protrudes and creates a shadow with the pop up Flash on my Sony A6500 is an issue for sure. The small pocketable size is totally a factor

I still have my D700 and my D3s (That I've had for, well.... maaaaaaaaaaany years!), along with my Z6 mirrorless, my D810, D750 as well as a couple other Nikons. I absolutely love my D700 and D3s and still use them (Especially the D700) on many of my professional shoots. Just something wonderful about how the D700 renders skin and colors! I'll NEVER get rid of either the D700 or the D3s.... Never! :)
