I will say ,a lot of the white ones do have those lines of clothes, fragrances,and even hair weaves, but we don't hear about it as much. Not to say I don't get your argument.

But their privilege allows them to do that, (often behind the scenes). We don’t have that. So gatekeeping is a detriment for us, because we've decided that if we like ur song, u are good to go take acting roles, and run for office!

The rappers in movie argument is the same issue as celebrities in animated movies.

Yeah I don't get that. I am not running to the theater just because Ryan Reynolds or Beyoncé is voicing a character. Kids really don't care about any of that. I get it's to encourage the "adults" to go to the show but still.

@@JeffersonBrown Exactly. And really, the adults never know. They just go see whatever their kids bug them about. My mom had no idea Whoopi Goldberg or Matthew Broderick were in it decades later.

People operate off familiarity. They can't envision the next thing. That's why they want every character/actor/I.P. to be rebooted and remade. Progress is a challenge to the imagination for some.

Curating your social media feed takes so much work, but it is worth it in the end. It's definitely easier on twitter. I eventually had mine where I didn't see discourse, homophobes, or celebrities. Just superheroes and astronomy. It gave me a new space for escapism. Tumblr is that for me now. It's really just pics and vibes, like a low-key Pinterest.

I enjoyed that! Having been taunted in junior high as well, I can relate to what u said there. I was pretty popular in high school and college tho and my people can't seem to get a reunion together...lol
